Yeah I’m just in emergency med, not internal and I do have my bias because I am very pro THC for a wide variety of issues now that it’s becoming legal and well regulated.

Hopefully with the downgrade from schedule one you will see more research come out since funding will be easier to obtain.

For the record I am very pro edibles I am not pro vaping simply because we don’t know the long term effects.
I'm not 100% anti-edibles but I don't like the delayed effect nor the extended duration. I know there are unknowns with the pen but I hit it pretty sparingly and just like having a little more control over the 'high' than I get with gummies.

I have never been a cigarette smoker, but smoked mj in my youth. I have always hated taking something foreign into my lungs. However, 6 - 8 hours of sleep now override potential effects of vaping. In all honesty, I am keeping my fingers crossed on the potential side effects. Life is full of give and take, as we all know.

I have learned that 10 mgs works for me if I take no later than 8 pm. When I first started trying them several years ago, if I took them at 10:00 or 11:00 I was stoned till 10:00 a.m. the next day. Hahaha

Waking up at 3 AM stoned out of your mind due to an edible is not a good experience. :(

Sorry I don’t know anything about Kratom but I see it advertised non stop
That's OK I think in medical field you'll be hearing more about it. Kind of mirrors opioid a bit but derived from a plant or tea leaves technically like weed in that it's supposed to be natural. Research is far behind on it. I don't think there's a definitive answer yet but some states have already banned it.

Yep it’s all a balance, and it’s obv hypothetical risk. I don’t jump down people’s throats for vaping THC the way you are the way I would if someone is smoking cigs still.

I usually don’t dig into those things until I start seeing people come in with issues. The amount of THC related cases I’ve covered since it’s been legal in Michigan is pretty comical. A very expensive bill to be reassured that you are fine 99% of the time.

True, but that rarely happens to me as it keeps me asleep. Hahaha

I will say both times it has happened to me I was very relaxed and fell asleep easily around midnight. However, clearly the edible wasn't in "full force" yet. :(

This is why I prefer flower vs an edible.

I think every person I know who started smoking weed in like high school prefers smoking to edibles, but every person i know who started using weed products as an adult prefers edibles

I agree to an extent, I am an outlier there. I kind of cringe when I’m hanging out with someone and they want to just fire up a bubbler like it’s 1997.

Huh. That’s weirdly my experience as well now that you bring it up

Haha, I'm the opposite of your findings - started smoking weed in HS (or even slightly before), but now pretty much only partake with edibles/occasional vape. If flower wasn't so pungent I'd be much more likely to keep it on-hand. The last time I opened some joints from a dispensary the smell filled the whole floor of our AirBnB lol.

Looks like the Mayo Clinic has a stance:

Not here. I much prefer the known dosage, especially considering the strength of dispensary weed today vs. whatever that was in the '70's. I REALLY dislike the taste of burnt flower as well. No issues with vaping, but one bong hit and I just want to spit it out the next morning.

Let me guess, newbs eating edibles most of the time. It's so easy to overdo it with those.

That and people taking THC unknowingly. Both just end up in freak outs and super expensive emergency room visits especially if the paranoia kicks in.

We did have a weird run of CHS (Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome) for a month or two but that just seemed like more coincidence than any real trend.
