I built my own 6-pack at Hy-Vee the other night and threw in a can of UNI's NIL beer, Panther Prowl Golden Ale by Singlespeed. Don't flame me too much, and please know that I love Ames Lager. But Prowl was really good. Better in my opinion, although I understand Lager is not = to Ale. Prowl was something that I found to be a bit lighter than Ames Lager, and was extremely refreshing on a hot summer day. I could have easily put down an entire 6-pack in one setting given the right circumstances.

It's not a pilsner. It's a golden ale.

After checking their website this appears to be correct. I was going off Untapped which had this.

I have enjoyed your European beer posts this past week. But…….I find myself wanting to crack open a cold one at 9 or 10 in the morning, which would be frowned upon by work/family/etc.

We were .1 mile away so I had to check it out. During the day it's like visiting a college bar.... During the day. They have the whole street with multiple bars.

Haven’t made mules for a minute so figured while I’m tending to the pork butt on the grill would be a good time to perfect my recipe.

Using:
2oz vodka(Absolut peach/pear/citrus)
juice of half a lime
4oz ginger beer(diet Saranac)

Anybody have a recipe I should try?

86th street Hy-Vee Urbandale liquor department has turned into a joke. Their manager left and their craft beer selection has been cut in half. I also wonder what it's going to mean for their big sales.
