***Official 2024 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Actually won a series. Granted against the doo-doo Angels. We will see how Cubs fair this week at Baltimore & St. Louis.

Good, just gives them a reason to DFA instead of keeping him around the rest of the summer.
Don't know what the CBA requires of Cubs. But if they can DFA him, they should. Even before punching a wall, his days should have been numbered.

He made 16 appearances and gave up 2 or 3 runs in 6 games.

My guess is that the Cubs would get in trouble if they DFAd him after the injury occurred as surely the MLBPA has some verbage to protect players who get hurt from losing their job because of an injury.

But my guess is after those 60 days and he shows he can throw a ball, his ass will be cut

I believe he can throw now. It's the other hand. You'd think theirs a difference in the contract between baseball injuries and stupid ****.

I'd have to imagine there's a caveat for getting hurt in a non-competition manner. Can't have guys avoid getting DFA'd by doing stupid ****.

And it's not just non-comletition, it's really not an accident. Just a stupid intentional act. I'm sure they're weighing their options

So you’re a journeyman reliever getting another shot in the bigs after several stints in the minors, getting released 4 times, and a stop in Japan and you punch a wall to end your season and likely your career? Probably the most Chicago Cubs thing to happen.

Sutcliffe is annoying. He just said we only need one in Baltimore then go get three in St Louis. We have Taillon, Steele and Imanaga v. Orioles. Taillon is the only one that will pitch in st Louis.

Wish he didn't have that NTC as it comes at a perfect sell high time
And how would they replace that production in 2025 for a similar size cost? This team HAS TO compete in 2025. They need to add a bat without subtracting one.
