House of the Dragon

I thought they handled Blood & Cheese, and their aftermath very well. The nice thing about the book that this is based on is that it is full of false narrators or secondhand accounts. So, it lends itself very well to television. If things don't play out exactly how they do in Fire And Blood, it's not a huge deal. Gives the showrunners a lot more creative leeway.

I'm curious how they're going to handle the Dragonseeds. I thought that might be something that would end up on the cutting room floor. But they teased it a bit during the Alyn and Addam scenes, as well as Hugh the blacksmith.

I'm enjoying season 2 quite a bit.
I intentionally didn’t read the book. :mccaffery:

Not sure who I really like, I know who I want to die though!

1. Daemon capturing Harrenhal still has me laughing.

2. The scene between Alicent and Rhaenyra was incredibly acted. I'm not usually all into the actors, but those two in that scene were terrific.
Love that you could see Alicent’s face come to the realization that Viserys meant Aegon the Conqueror and that she royally f’d up

The whole episode is the words of Rhaenys put into action. She talked to Rhaenyra about how people will forget what started the fight, and the transgressions will compound so that the origins no longer even matter. Even if Alice acknowledged the truth, it doesn't matter at this point. The die has been cast.

Yep. Any hope of a peaceful resolution goes out the window when children get eaten by dragons and beheaded

Reminds me of this scene from season 1 of GOT. “There’s your peace…”

I am not sure Aegon is dead. I think the brother was gonna finish him off before Cole came up. But damn that was a great episode. I really hate that Rhaenys is done...she was great.
Yeah I’m sure he’s not dead. However, how stupid of Aemond to just flame the king like he’s collateral damage. If Aegon dies, his heir is like a 6-month old. Their whole side would unravel.

very good episode. Really enjoying the characterizations that they're taking the time for. It would have ebeen easy to make Aegon just another Joffrey, just a horrible, sadistic person. Instead, they are giving him layers. Yes, he's not a very good king, but he isn't really evil. He's a kid who had the throne thrust on him. He was just a chess piece, moved by others. His mother doesn't really care for him. He wants to be a good king, but has no idea how to do it, and his ego and impetuousness aren't doing him any favors.
