***Official 2024 Chicago Cubs Thread***

It was really annoying. People are stupid and just keep chatting about it. Heard well they use to be the Oaks at least 30 times.
Amazing what you can buy with advertising dollars. Wonder if you'll see that coming to college athletics someday in the not too distant future.

Just glad they walked it off in the 9th. Game was 2:42 and it was a fireworks Friday. My kids were starting to get restless so extra innings would have been rough. They didn't get to bed till nearly midnight so probably will pay for it by Monday morning

As solid as yesterday's win was, today's loss was equally ugly in the first 5 innings. Feel like they all went on bender last night to celebrate 2 straight wins.

Batters could had more success taking a toothpick to the plate!

Mowen & JD interviewed Hoyer during roughly 3rd/4th inning. He looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there. He looked pi$$ed about the effort.

No way Brewer should be on roster for upcoming road trip.

Pop quiz, when was the last time Patrick Whiffdom hit a HR? Answer: June 4th. He's also 5 for 35 Since June 1 with 15 strikeouts and he's been hitting 2nd when he has started lately.

I know power of the bench right? 3 HR and batting .189 on the season now. Yes I have been calling to cut this guy for awhile and some here keep saying he's too valuable off the bench but at what point is he bad enough to finally cut and give someone else his at bats?

The whole roster is mess really, Hendricks looks done but there isn't anyone in Iowa right now to give his spot in the rotation to and the other better options are on the IL. Watched the Iowa Cubs trot out guys last night that had no control and high ERA and WHIP. One guy even walked the bases loaded. Palencia was warming up and threw 2 pitches that got past the bullpen catcher even. He did come into a tight spot at hit 100 mpg and got a big out to end an inning but the 2 balls that got out of the bullpen area was almost comical of the control problems the pitching staff has had this year.

So he's got 35 ABs in 36 days and you're ******** about his production. You're kinda being a tool.

No I'm pointing out the obvious. Why are we wasting a roster spot on a 32 year old guy that had his Frank Schwindel moment and now it's gone but we still keep putting him out there against lefties and he is not hitting when his strength is "he crushes lefties." His defense sucks too. He's not part of the plan going forward and I bet he'd clear waivers if they cut him at this point and probably have to take a minor league deal. So why not give his roster spot to someone like Vasquez who plays good defense and can probably bat over .200 if they give him a fair chance.

Hunter Bigge has been real good in Iowa. If he can get his breaking ball over mixed with 95/96, he's tough.

He won't last. The only talented arm I've seen at Iowa this year is Arias. This team isn't going anywhere so they might as well bring him up at this point and get him some experience.

I've seen Arias once this year. He throws hard but like most Cubs pitchers he had a hard time throwing strikes. He's a nice project if they can develop command of the strike zone. His WHIP stat confirms his lack of control.

I'm going have to disagree on this. I think Bigge is really good and Arias is next year.

Wisdom batting second I believe is again another instance of the computers overruling the human element.

Wisdom has one job on this team - mash lefties. And he simply is not doing that when he has the opportunity. I ask, why is a .195 hitter batting second? Are we ******* serious?
