These guys swing at the worst pitches and just watch an obvious strike 3. It’s sickening.
Last night brought forth some pretty glaring issues.

PCA swings at anything down and in, including a pitch that hit the dirt in his own box, yet watches pitches on the outside in which the whole damn ball is in the zone. Twice he argued with the ump on obvious strikes.

Seiya has zero approach. Watches good pitches or swings like he's never swung before until he has two strikes.

Amaya, Swanson and Hoerner can't be relied on to do anything productive on the offensive end.

Only time I was frustrated FOR a guy was Wisdom. Came in to pinch hit. First pitch was clearly a ball called a strike. Second pitch was a check swing that didn't look like he broke, but it was called. What should've been 2-0 was quickly 0-2 to no fault of his own.

The entire lineup is the very definition of being caught in-between. Taking good pitches. Swinging at bad pitches. I think they are almost too approach driven and not reacting.

Seiya is probably the best example. Our cleanup hitter just starting at first pitch strikes right down the middle. Every. Time. Gets down and wastes the only good pitch he sees all AB by taking on the first pitch.

I know lots of times I listen to the radio broadcast and Pat and Ron would say they got a good pitch to hit and they frequently end up fouling it away. It seems like I pretty much feel that the batters get to 2 strikes and I pretty much feel the AB is over because they will strike out more often then not. It seems like they also take strike 3 called a ton. At least go down swinging. With 2 strikes you have to protect the plate on close pitches.

That Swanson AB was pathetic. I don't and haven't ever expected him to bat .300 but come on.

Why do I even watch? I am living the definition of insanity watching the Cubs play hoping for something different to happen. Our bullpen is scared. Man up, you are professional ball players.

I'd say it's time to mail it in, Cubs....but they did that weeks ago. Throw strikes, see what happens. But they cannot even do the basics. Start over with the entire pen.

It’s almost as if Counsell isn’t the ‘best manager in baseball’ when he doesn’t have Hader and Williams to close out every close game…what a joke of a team
