Cecil Rhoads dies

I got to visit with Cecil a number of times. He was such a kind man. Amazing husband and father.

Cecil took great care of Paul's mom to the very end as she struggled down the long horrible path of dementia. It makes me smile knowing that Cecil's wife was the first person waiting to hug him on the other side.

I’ve heard so many great things about this man. RIP Cecil!

I first met Cecil in Arizona at a bowl game. He thanked my family for traveling to the game to support the Cyclones. He was a special man.

So many great things about Cecil but because of him we got Paul and despite how it ended the CPR Era is one ISU fans will never forget.
Not many get to coach all the way to retirement. CPR had a great run in Ames. Plus the energy and revival he brought to the fans was the selling point for the current staff.

Last 4 coaches have built off each other. Mac created a foundation, Chiz brought in some high profile guys but he didn't have the true heart and passion to be here which Paul came in and had the heart and passion in buckets but getting top recruits proved hard in the end and in Matt I feel we have a combination of all those guys. A great recruiter who has a passion for ISU.

A very visible, nice man. Had a huge network of friends.

Got to know Paul a little more than most fans.
He is a great man and was a great cyclone.
I will always like him. (I agree however, it was time for a change when he was let go.)

Met Cecil on some road games. Seemed like a great person too.
My condolences to the family.
