FranTango thread

Tonight’s official attendance 4532.
Lots of empty seats above the barriers, looked like the first 10 rows or so were full, I am sure the middle sections went higher but the look on TV was about a 1/3 filled arena. EIU is a women's basketball school, they do not have time for the men's team.

“It was gods plan”
“This team deserved better”
“We are used to playing defenses that flop”
“A road game for a tournament? We deserved to play at home”
“We should be playing in the NCAA tournament”
"Kaluma had a bad game because Tamin Lipsey shot his dog."

How did Kaluma not go for 25 and 10 tonight? Did that dude just happen to play his best games against us or what?

I didn't watch but someone posted some stats in the other thread implying that KSU basically played right into Iowa's hands.

Tang 'Prohmed' the game.

That was pretty dumb. It's pretty obvious how you beat iowa. Get the ball into the paint either off the dribble or post up. The last thing you want to do is get into a 3 point contest with them. Unless you're BYU I guess. Have a good defender chase Sandfort off the line and they're pretty toothless. Tang did the opposite, Perry had a bad game and you end up with a bad L.

From KSU message board:

"The 2024 Iowa/Nebraska style of basketball has a mediocre ceiling. I agree with your points that last night without time to prep KSU got cut up on the road. But I will take the Tang style because the high end ceiling is a national championship".

lol

The KSU announcers knew how to beat Iowa, but Tang was to stubborn to stick with what he saw working, and tried to run with them.

I listened to the Hok announcers on the local radio at the beginning of the game. They thought they thought they playing the Kansas State Jayhawks... (Said this numerous times as they described their purple uniforms)

You can't make this stuff up...:mccaffery:

Just when you thought Settles was getting a little more professional, last night he went full Hawkeye. You would have thought he was in a black and yellow cheerleader uniform.

Well it sounds better to beat KU than KSU. Their fan base doesn't know the difference. So now at the bar you can brag about how you beat the Jayhawks. No one will no the difference LOL.

I'm glad he does our games fairly professionally. Not surprised he went fan boy calling a game for his old school. McClure has a hard time calling a game when it is a team he dislikes (ISU) IMO.

I never noticed that vs us.

Its more annoying that he tended to get slated with most of KSU's games, and he's a big fan of Tang, being one of his former coaches.
