This. I know Lunardi isn't great but before our game yesterday, he had us as a 3 in the Midwest, playing in Omaha. Now he has us as the 2 in the East, playing in Omaha. Give me the 3 all day if that's the options.

I think if Marquette wins and Baylor wins, we would fall to the overall #9 seed and be a 3. If we beat Baylor, I think we'd be a lock to be a 2. I'd think Marquette would want to be in the MW as a #2 seed therefor sending us South as UNC (east) and AZ (west) would be other 2 seeds.

I just find it hard to believe they send a 2 from the Big XII to the South with Houston. But you're basically saying we need to beat Houston Saturday or face them.in a regional final.

If we were to be ahead of Marquette on the seed line, we could have our choice of the MW or South, I'm guessing. Maybe you can only have your choice of location and not necessarily which region.

We can't be in the south because Houston is there. They seperate conferences on the top 4 seed lines and that takes precedence over geography.

pool of teams, id say logically UNC/AZ are locked in as 2's.

Marquette/Iowa St/Baylor/Duke are probably 4 teams for 2 spots for the #2 line

Yep. None of us, Baylor, or KU (if they stay a 4-seed or higher) will get placed in the South because Houston has that 1 seed locked up. They have to separate conference teams in different regions that are 4-seed or better (unless there’s 5 or more from one conference in the top 16).

I think 2-seed in the East, unfortunately, is a very realistic, if not probable scenario, right now. Followed by 2 or 3 in the MW, then 3 in the West or East which is unlikely

I just can't see Duke as a contender for that after their upset loss yesterday. I think it's safe to say that they'll hold at a 3 (unless the committee is judging things quite differently than everyone else).

I would like to think so too. Almost didn't include them.. but, ya know, Duke..
