I can't recall the last game where we had 60 consistent minutes. Our offense has had dry spells all season. More so since Lipsey's injury.

But I attribute the ugliness of the last couple weeks to opponents. Houston, Oklahoma and UCF are really good on defense. They each get the job done a little differently. Houston a lot like ISU. OU with great on-ball defense. And UCF with length and atleticism.

The good thing is our offense is executing when it counts.

I know you mean 40 but is there any time that this has been something to expect from about any college basketball team let alone ISU?

No doubt we've been playing some good defenses. But the fact that our kenpom Ortg, which should factor in the quality of the defense we've been facing, has been dropping would seem to suggest that even given playing some good defenses we've been underperforming expectations against those.

Our offense the last 3 games is a little worrisome. The fact that we came out with 3 wins is really, really great. But I hope we figure things out a bit.

It is but I really think how hard we play on defense contributes to some of our offensive struggles. We are fricking relentless on D and expend a ton of energy in doing so. It's kind of a trade off in a way.

What stinks is now that Kansas is looking like they could finish 4th or 5th in the conference- the media narrative will immediately jump to how the Big 12 is down this year. SVP started on it the other day with how the Big12 is gaming the power rankings.
In their mind , a weaker Kansas team just means the entire league must be down- makes no sense.

A lull is not just losing games. A lull is not performing at the high level you previously were. Which we are not compared to mid-Jan to mid-Feb which is fine because we are still winning and that’s what elite team do.

You literally echoed exactly what I said but are hung up on the word lull.

You're spending just as much time being hung up on defining what a lull is as I am. You want to say the team is in an offensive lull, ok. But they are peaking defensively, and some players are outperforming individually on offense. Whatever, the team is playing championship caliber basketball. Every team is going to have ups and downs offensively and defensively. That's just the nature of the game. They are still winning and performing well overall during the dog days of the conference. That's all that matters.

Big props to the Cyclone fans who were in attendance today. I had to listen on the radio, but just watched the 2nd half replay and you represented ISU so well. It didn't come across on the radio, but on TV you sounded (and looked) awesome!

All I ever hear is how good the Big 12 is and that is with Kansas struggling a bit. If the Big 12 struggles in the tournament, though, then there will be reason to think it is overrated.

I think what sucks is it is somewhat likely that a new team wins the conference.

KU beat UConn, Tennessee, Kentucky.
I guess those guys finish in the bottom half of Big 12.
