I thought or secondary was losing a lot and needed that also. Am I wrong on that
Yeah I would have dB and OL at the top. When one player for either unit was out it seemed like we had a significant drop off. Cb, Lb could also be a problem as purchase was up and down and Lb didn't impress.

outside of Vaughn, the LB room was EXTREMELY young. Never hurts to bring in competition, but I think we see a lot of growth out of that position next year. I think Lovett is going to be a great player and Sadowsky got a ton of experience as a true freshman.

Wow. Going after $$$? Cant imagine he lacked playing time
Definitely think it is for the cash. Was used often and they have a very good team coming back. Guess the NIL at Ole Miss wasn't to his liking. He will probably get a boatload of $$$.

I definitely agree. Extra muscle, conditioning and experience can make a world of difference at that position.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but do we have any way of knowing who is on scholarship and who isn't? I have no idea how many scholarships we have committed for 2024 and thus no idea how many players we can still add. Just curious. (This used to be so simple!) Thanks!

Yea, that's a bit of a head scratcher. Initially, I thought maybe he wanted more carried, since Ole Miss seems like a pass dominated offense. But he got over 20 carries a game.

My guess, there are schools with bigger NIL money bags than Ole Miss, especially for RB's. Kiffin likes his QB's.

Kid spends another year with 15 TD's, hes a high second round pick making more money in the NFL

I think we are set with starters (Purchase, Williams/Porter, Cooper/Patton, Freyler, Verdon/Surges) but depth next season and beyond is a huge concern.

I am curious about our depth at CB for 2024. The staff has talked-up Porter for a couple years, but his snaps don't seem to indicate a guy who is going to be a solid Big12 CB.

I really like our safety group for 2024 as mentioned above. There are also a few guys who have looked good early the last couple years who I will be curious about their off-season progression: Ta'Shawn James & Trevon Howard

We absolutely need to shore up the drop-off in production between starters and reserves in the secondary. It seemed when Nikkel, Thompson, Patton, Surges were in they would give up big plays/TD's on the back-end (missed tackles, missed assignments, bad eye discipline). Don't need them to force turnovers but have to limit the big plays they gave up this year.

I feel like our DB play will be inconsistent if we can't put pressure on opposing QB's.

As far as safeties go, Howard got hurt but he looked solid in 2022. James also looked like a player with some pop during the non-con. Patton was a true freshman, so his inexperience showed. My hope is all three are solid in reserve roles in 2024 behind Freyler, Cooper and Verdon.

I do have questions about CB depth. Purchase, Porter and Williams could be solid, but we need 1-2 other guys to push the first 3.

In the end, our defense will only improve if our front 6 can create more TFL, hurries and sacks.

Anyone else shocked at the Will Howard to tOSU announcement? I would assume tOSU has a couple of 4 star and 5 star youngsters on the roster. Howard was a fine QB for KSU, but would not rate him tOSU worthy.
I was floored. I though after Leonard went to ND, that Howard to USC was a sure thing
