***2023-24 College Football Thread***

I’m kind of losing my mind because this is a game we should have won. Hard to win though when the D can’t stop them at all. That was incredible.
Yeah losing to a G5 is a bad look, makes the food poisoning game look like less of a fluke but if Memphis wasn’t 10-2 AAC and was a 7-6 ACC team it wouldn’t be a big deal. Also from a quick glance the recurring classes aren’t that far apart, them having to replace most of their O line was the reason I had you guys winning. The defense not being able to get through the makeshift line was extremely confusing

- Mizzou player flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, bails Ohio State out from a 4th down at their own 2

- Overhead replay shows Mizzou player pushing his blocker to the whistle (maybe a little past) after which the Buckeye blocker takes a swing at the Mizzou guy

- Mizzou guy shoves Buckeye, because … he took a swing at him

- ESPN announcer: Gee, you can’t really see what the officials were calling there, guess that Mizzou guy was just a hothead, what a big mistake, I guess we’ll never know why he pushed that guy

Yeah but tOSU recruits 5* guys every year. Where are the 5* QBs? These guys are horrible.
The QB’s get helped dramatically by the caliber of the WR they have, when those guys are all sitting out it makes a big difference. Plus these are fully Day’s guys now and he sucks at coaching and developing.

Agree. You don’t see a lot of those OSU QBs in the NFL for a reason. They were propped up by their receivers and/or didn’t develop. There’s a reason guys leave OSU and become Heisman contender QBs where they get the necessary development and coaching.

I agree they mostly don't do crap in the NFL but you can't deny how good they've been in college. Stroud tore Georgia's defense up. I think Cardale was the backup when he killed Bama. They're usually 2 or 3 deep with those types of guys, but these guys are Iowa level bad. Mizzou's D doesn't have to worry about any kind of passing game.

Yeah, they don’t seem to have quite that QB pipeline of old. But it seems like the same could be said of a few blue bloods recently. It feels like the current crop of QBs in the Top 300 are meh compared to a 10 year run up until a couple years ago.

Maybe it’s because players are moving around so much these days that they leave gaps or haven’t developed overall as much across the board, but QB play overall (especially depth) is lacking.
