***2023-24 College Football Thread***

Big 12 needs to take the mayo and gator bowls. WVU sold out both of those bowls over the years and it is in their interest to get the big 12, which has fans, in their bowls.

The best teams from the sec wont be in the mayo, and their midtier teams are not going to turn out for it either.

UNC had no fans there and the bowl was in their own state. maybe big 12 gets gator and mayo away from acc when fsu leaves--or sooner.

I’m late to the party but the OU revisionist history in this thread is unreal. I don’t like them either, but they were the class of the conference from 2010 onwards.

They will get curb stomped in the SEC

I don’t see anyone saying they weren’t. I know I didn’t. My whole point is that while they have been “the class of the conference” all they do is **** the bed at the end of the season. Usually in fantastic fashion.

What revisionist history? Maybe I missed someone saying they weren’t that good in the Big 12. They owned this conference for a long time, but in the national champion and CFP they routinely **** the bed. Those are all facts.

Kentucky leads Clemson 21-16, early 4th Qtr.

Notre Dame leads Oregon St. 7-0, late 1st Qtr.

Their mascots are buried in a cemetery just outside the stadium. A&M fans made a fuss when they learned the 1997 stadium expansion was going to block the dogs "view" of the scoreboard. The solution: they built another scoreboard outside in front of the cemetery.

aTm people are ******* weird. Like, really weird when it comes to that school. Especially the alumni. Except for the swaying back and forth, every "tradition" they have is ******* weird. Cult like. Their campus is a dump and they act like they are a military school. Hey Aggies, you are not a military school. Did I mention they are ******* weird?

exactly. This whole realignment thing is going to be like that phase in the late 80's, early 90's where people tight rolled their jeans. going to look back and wish they hadn't done it....lol

the top 8 SEC schools all hire coaches to consistently win the SEC and win 10+ games, make the playoffs and win a title.
OU is going to go from a consistent brand that wins to just another school.
and what will probably happen is those average schools are going to complain about they have to play in the hardest league of all time and can't win 10 games consistently, and it's not fair the ACC and Big12 get to skate by, etc. That is why its probably good that Arizona coming in not looking like dogwater.

Its going to be well documented in the next 10 years on how some of these teams turn out.
Take Iowa for example, I would bet the odds are really good they make the Big Ten Title game next year if they left the big ten alone. With the restructuring, they may not see it ever again as the odds that USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Mich, Ohio St, Penn St all being down are not good.
I think OU goes from a traditional 10 win team to more of an 8-9 wins. remember the SEC still has the 8 game schedule.

Nebraska is going to surpass Iowa. Starting next year. Good luck finishing in the top two Hawk fans. Like ever.

2010? Longer than that. They won a national title in 2000.

Kentucky is such a fraud, all they have to do is win their rivalry game with Louisville every year, beat Vanderbilt, then sneak out a couple more wins against bottom SEC teams and they are in a good bowl.

This Gator Bowl has been crazy in the second half. Clemson takes the lead 30-28 after a 52 yard FG hits the crossbar and bounces over and in.

And WTH has happened to Clemson’s defense the last two possessions? They were basically controlling Kentucky and making them go on long drives. Now they give up back to back 60+ yard passes where there is nobody in sight.

Clemson takes the lead with 17 seconds left. The fourth quarter has just been points and more points. What a game!
