***2023-24 College Football Thread***

What non-Playoff, non-ISU game are people looking forward to the most still to come? I’m looking forward to FSU getting ass blasted by Georgia and Liberty getting run over by Oregon. Some good games, just wished they spread them out a bit more.
I've always liked the Sun Bowl.
Oregon St vs ND this year.

That's a historic game with decent teams usually.

These refs ain't ******* around with holding in this game.

I was about to post the same thing. Your pass plays better develop in about 3 seconds or there will be holding, both ways equally.

It’s not fair. I wish we had a freshman stud qb like this Arnold or Fafita kid….oh, no wait, we do. Yes!!!!

Will be interesting where Zona shakes out next year for preseason big 12 rankings.

Williams has bust written all over him. He had all the talent and advantages in the world at USC and still was only 7-5. That's not a winner or a leader in the locker room.

I think he'll end up like Jameis Winston or Trubisky, talent but doesn't have the leadership or intangible skills that make an NFL QB.
Matt Leinart and Mark Sanchez approve of this post.

That's why I'm not sure that a G5 team should automatically get into the Playoff. Sure the CFP threw the G5 that bone though so they didn't get sued.
B12 elevated the best three G5 and BYU and they all got ran in B12 play this year. With a couple of exceptions, including a Hail Mary, they only beat each other. Ive started to lose interest in multiple G5s being ranked.

I really don’t mind them getting a spot still. This is a 12 team playoff. They’re not taking a spot from a team that really had a shot to win it all anyways. Furthermore, the trend we’re seeing is that the power schools don’t play these teams anymore. They want the guaranteed win cupcakes (SEC November games for example). Give the G5 teams a path to at least have an opportunity.

Plus, you eliminate the chances of the UCF national title that we saw a few years back.

Yes, we need more edible mascots. Ralphie (bison burgers), Bevo (steak), that dog from A&M..

LOL was at Cy's house of trivia a few yrs back and one of the questions was about aTm somehow, I might have had a couple of libations in me and I said it's those collie F*ckers down at college station is the answer.

There was a time when the Big East and ACC really sucked bad and the MWC and Boise in the WAC were pretty legit in the same years. In that era I’d have really argued strongly for teams like Utah, TCU and Boise to get their chance.

In this current era I’m pretty skeptical of even the top G5 teams. That was kind of a symptom that the mountain region was simply under represented in power conference football while the passion just wasn’t there in areas of the east coast. Three previously left out MWC teams are now in the Big 12 and two of the east coast teams in that weak Big East have lost power conference status. It took almost two decades but it shook out in conference membership.

Agree, except both teams have a ton of players/coaches not participating. Still a good bowl. Only CBS bowl, which is unique IMO. I will be watching for sure. At least until the Liberty Bowl kicks off. :)
