NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

That was one of the most confusing signings of the off-season. They let Brown go, someone who worked on your line even if he wasn't perfect, to sign a guy who rated more poorly in both pass AND run blocking, for MORE money? I get it if you save a bunch of money and think a younger guy can improve. I get it if the guy was a better player. But when neither one of those things were true?

It was a bad move before the season but it looks really bad now. Taylor is atrocious and can't even get off the line with illegally lining up or false starting. He's terrible.
I'll admit I was one that was okay with Brown walking. I didn't think even if Taylor was bad he'd be this bad. I don't know if I've ever seen a guy struggle like him consistently. I mean sometimes you'll see a backup come in and get torched by a dominant defensive player. I almost feel sorry for Taylor he looks so bad out there.

The Chiefs are always down for a game like that every year. Everyone looks like junk, lots of dumb mistakes, can't take advantage of the other teams errors.

Wish they weren't traveling to Germany this week after that loss, but they'll readjust.

Only that is concerning for me is that the Receivers keep dropping those easy passes. Rice had a bad one for a 1st down, and of course Skyy Moore continues to offer nothing to offense. Maybe they'll pick a WR by tomorrow.

Like I said, for me it was less to do with Brown walking than it was the subsequent move they made and what Brown ultimately signed for. Assuming Brown would have signed somewhere between what he ultimately signed for and what Taylor signed for just re-sign Brown. Why make that risk for a guy you already knew worked on a Super Bowl winning team?

I was utterly floored that entire process wasn't talked about more, both in the sports world and even on here. There were some posters on here that were like "Brown is overrated". I even agree but so ******* what? By every metric Brown was a top 10 overall tackle. Guess what? Those other 9 guys aren't available. Taylor, by comparison, was relatively close (somehow) in pass blocking but rated terribly in run blocking? In what ******* world is he worth MORE money.

The only thing Taylor has on Brown is bring 2+ years younger. The fact that Taylor socks balls and had to cheat at doing so makes it even more laughable. Between lining up illegally and false starting they could throw a flag on him almost every play if they wanted to. Never seen anything like it. And as a Bear fan (first) I've seen most things that fall in the "terrible" realm.

I agree it was a bad decision. It was 4th and what, 2? Gotta convert the first down. Throw that ball on any down other than 4th.
This is the NFL. If you can put the ball in the WRs hands in the end zone, you do it every time. Why pass up a TD pass?

Moore and Toney have been huge disappointments this season. Moore is looking like a draft bust and the Chiefs gave up a 3rd and 6th round pick for Toney and neither can consistently catch passes thrown right at them this year. Just 1 decent WR would make a difference for this offense. Rice is carving out more of a role but he's still just a rookie. Watson has had some nice catches so maybe he gets some more of Toney and Moore's snaps.

Could tell in 2 quarter it was one of those games. Just didn’t feel like it was gonna work itself out.

Our receivers have had stone hands this year at times. If its not 4th down take a shot. That was pretty much the ballgame if they didn't convert. O'well
If it's 4th and short I'd like to see more wildcat formations with Kelce or just put Blake Bell in as the Belldozer. Pacheco runs so hard its a shame they have not turned him into a bell cow RB with 15-20 carries a game. He ran it 8 times against the Broncos for a 5.0 yard average. That was the least carries he had all season other than 8 runs in week 1 in their only other loss. He has big play ability if he breaks a tackle they should be trying to establish the run more which would allow Mahomes to do his thing when they run play action fake plays.

Kelce is probably the most pissed off I’ve heard him after a loss on his podcast today. Deservedly so.

I am shocked that Veach is going status quo with this WR room. Guess we will see if they can improve enough to help Mahomes and Kelce.

They like their young WR's and I doubt if they have much of any cap space to add players that could be difference makers the rest of the year.
I stated earlier, the Chiefs need to go all in, trade up and get the best WR that is there in the middle of the 1st round. Now is the time to win, everything is there except a WR that can get open down the field and free up Kelsey.

I am the opposite. I just wish they would run the ball with Pacheco on 3rd or 4th and short. I am tired of these gimmicky end arounds and cute runs by Noah Grey, or inside shovel passes. Pacheco runs hard and need can get the first downs. The line is supposed to be good and when we need a yard or 2 we just get too fancy.

I'm not sure who we could have gotten for a decent price. Maybe could have gotten JuJu back, but Titans are not trading Hopkins with Levis emerging. Broncos wanted a lot for Sutton or Juedy, Did they reach out about McLaurin with the Commanders? Cap Space a big concern

Wild singing the national anthem on foreign soil. Incorporate a flyover and you could have a great sneak attack to put an end to the current geopolitical mess.

Tyrek said he wanted to yell you shouldn’t have traded me when he scored.i guess he didn’t mean when he gave up a score.
