NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I still think we have a very difficult schedule the rest of the way, 5 games on the road, plus a trip to Germany to play Miami, week off then home vs Eagles, away at Raiders and Green Bay, home to the Bills, away to NE, home for the Raiders and Bengals and then finish up the year in LA verses the Chargers.
Let's see how it goes in Denver this week, a team they own.
Ya, but those 5 road games are 4 not great teams and a week 18 against the Chargers that may not even matter. All the hard games are at home or overseas. They will most likely drop 2 more the rest of the way, one in an inexplicable fashion and one where the just couldn't stop someone from scoring. Happens every year.

Still puts them in good position for the 1 seed.

I hoping that already happened against the Lions.

NE just beat the Bills yesterday at home, the Chiefs in the past have struggle to win at Denver and the Raiders, and a nite game at Green Bay is never easy. Granted none of those teams are very good, but this is the NFL, where unless you bring your A game, you can lose.
That last game @ LA may be the difference between hosting all the way through the playoffs or not, so it could end up being an important game. The big advantage the Chiefs have to hosting is they will have played and hopefully beaten the teams that are going to win the other divisions in the AFC, Jets, Dolphins or Bills from the east, Cincinnati and Jacksonville from the other two divisions unless Baltimore can win that division.

Buffalo may be a tad overrated and have a lot of injuries right now. And Josh Allen has an incredible knack for strange turnovers.

Cincy might find themselves sitting at home come January. They have brutal schedule remaining and are 4th in their division. Baltimore looks legit and the other two teams at least look competent. And Cincy already has two division losses. Houston also looks frisky and has a pretty easy schedule where they could snag a playoff spot.

Sitting here watching the 49ers game just reenforces what I said earlier about the Chief's remaining schedule, any game on the road can be difficult. Ya, Denver is down, GB is nothing, but playing them at their place and get their fans behind them, you better bring your A game. The Bills and Bengals are going to be sky high for the Chiefs game, that is just the problem with winning Super Bowls, every team gets up and wants to knock off the defending champ.

Updated report has it now listed as greater than $1,000. Lowers it to a class 9 vs originally a class 7 felony. Rumors are something involving his GF's phone and damage to his apartment. As long as there is no domestic violence component and it's a first offense, it may just be a paying for damages and a diversion program to keep it off his record. Still though, got to be smarter than that.

Didn’t Willie Gay get 4 games for destroying a vacuum of his GF?

I'm as serious as a heart attack.

But I guess you are correct when you say Purdy isn't even close to Mahomes. If you you look at any meaningful statistical ranking of NFL QB's this season, Mahomes is looking up at Purdy and "it isn't even close."
I prefer to live in the present.

Look, both guys are great QB's. I just shake my head at all the doubters who insist Brock doesn't belong in the same conversation as the other greats. I have to remind myself that some people are slower to pick up on the obvious, but it's fun watching them when they finally do.
I'm not talking about who's had the best career. I like living in the present, so I'm talking about who's playing the best right now. And folks who insist Purdy isn't playing the best right now are either very biased (which is not unusual in the sports world) or very ignorant.
Care to provide us an update on where you're at on this now??

Sure. I believe those posts were three games ago and, unfortunately, because of injuries Brock's team has been playing without it's best weapons against some great defenses.

The NFL season is a marathon, so we'll see where Purdy stands at the end. Still have a feeling he'll be one of the last QB's still standing as the season nears the end, but time will tell.

Weird. It's almost like Brock's success is dependent on the elite teammates around him...

Every QB's success is dependent upon the elite teammates around them.

Name 1 elite WR Mahomes has had since they traded Hill. Kelce is not a WR but yes he's an elite TE. They definitely have not had an elite RB in awhile now either it's been mostly by committee. It's been discussed here before, if you put Mahomes or Purdy on a crummy team like the Patriots or Broncos right now which QB do you think wins more games with those rosters? It's not even a debate really Mahomes is the far more superior QB that can make plays most QBs can't to carry a team where Purdy is more of a game manager.

Great QB bring up the level of their teammates and make them better than what they truly are. Average QB just don't do that. Prescott has more weapons around him that Mahomes could ever dream about having and no one is talking about the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs have Kelse and a lot of good not great WR's, its Mahomes by spreading the ball makes them great.
