Not sure where people are getting the idea this lawsuit's aim is to undo prior realignment moves.

It's about which schools among the current Pac12 can vote on certain conference issues.

Similar to OU & UT not having voting rights on all Big12 issues since their announced departure. OSU & WSU are looking to be the sole voting schools on matters like financials.

IMO the biggest near term issue, can OSU & WSU maintain the Pac12's status as a Autonomous(Power) 5 conference. In a couple years that could be worth $20M per Pac12 school.

If they push for that status get ready for absolute chaos. No way the other conferences will allow it. I’m including the Big12 in that too

You forget. If the Pac2 can keep the corporation alive, they can use its playoff position as a bargaining chip to try and bring the Mountain West into a merger, under the Pac12 name and corporation. If the teams that are leaving are allowed to close the conference corporation, all remining value to the name and future fee income will evaporate.

If they do that the other P4 will push back and you will have a major problem on your hands. Like a cfb altering problem

That was my first thought too. But do you think the ACC and Big12 might want a PAC to exist as A5 just for "big vs little" voting on issues like money splits etc? That's about the only feasible way I can see for the PAC to remain A5. And even then, do you want to give up a cash share for a vote?

I suppose it is theoretically possible, but more theoretical than possible.

Is A5 supposed to mean automatic 5? Like as in automatic qualifiers? Just haven’t heard that before.

I mean they could want them for that but also that’s just allowing another G5 school to take a spot that could go to an in conference team. ND doesn’t count as the ACC but do you think Clemson, FSU, etc what a spot going to a pac2 doormat? Even if they were on board the SEC would lose their **** and the big10 would probably not be far behind that.

They don't have the money SMU has. Plus WSU already has debts don't they? And OSU has a new stadium they need to pay for.
They don't, that's why, I think, they are trying so hard to get the PAC 12 assets.

Hey Big12, you want this fancy network and all its fancy cameras? How about these hot NCAA tourney credits? Yeah, you like that don't ya.....
