Yeah...I'm stoked! What's fun is we start the trip in Istanbul with a Whirling Dervish performance and dinner, and end the trip in Athens with a dinner including traditional Greek dancing & breaking of plates. :D
KC doing a little belly dancing it sounds like. Or maybe that’s Lew?

My sister had a classmate. Her daughter was a classmate of mine. (16-17 year old mom). My classmate had a kid at 17. I believe her daughter got pregnant right around that age also. I’m 51, 52 in a month. So she was parent at 17-18, grandparent around 35-36. If they keep the family tradition alive…….. she was also a neighbor growing up. I guess I missed out on riding my bike over and getting entertained. She was cute.
I was 39 when #1 was born. She was an accident...but has become a lovely accident. I told her early on I did NOT want to be a great-grandmother at 60. She definitely listened, as I'm 68 now.
When I went to my 20 year reunion, some of my classmates were pregnant...with their first child. No way in hell I wanted to be a mom at 40. My kids were already teenagers. :D

Our first was at 29ish. We were on the higher side of the parents groups. Second was 2 years later and we were still with the same ones. Last we were 35/36. We were like grandma and grandpa at other events. I felt our age with the kids was about right. Not too old and old enough that financially we were better off than many parents.

Have a great time in Constantinople.

I'll play this in your honor. We like us some TMBG around our house.

I'd really like to know why Constantinople got the works!

So, midmorning today I dropped my work badge in the toilet. *sigh* It was pre-use, but still.

Day didn't really go up from there.

Sec y for the CyHawk game I was in C last wk so similar seats just from the opposite side. By the end of the game last wk the sun wasn't as bad this wk it will be in effect for the full game. Luckily it isn't supposed to be as hot.

Don’t be throwing anything over the rail. I may be in the line of fire.

I find the wedding versus attending a football game thread pretty pathetic. Granted I am not as invested in sports as I was when I was younger but the choice between a friends wedding and a football game won't have been a close call for me even back in my younger more sport fanatic days. I've never been married and don't know **** about marriage but god damn, a wedding is a special day and if you skip it for a ******* football game you are not a friend, just an acquaintance.

Not for a football game but as the years went on friends getting married was a pretty optional deal for me unless it was someone I was close to recently.

Funerals/services are mandatory though.

I am the opposite for funerals. Generally not a big funeral guy. An aunt of mine was mad at me for years for not not attending my grandmothers funeral. I had stopped to visit her last time I was in Iowa. She was 99 and I always stopped for a visit on my drive back to Mpls after visiting parental units in NE Iowa. Figured visiting her when she was still alive trumped coming for her funeral. BTW, I did attend that aunts funeral, figured I owed her one. ;)

I've always found the marriage v football game question to be a bit curious. I guess other people have different priorities but a football game in the fall just doesn't matter that much to me. I hope that most of the people complaining are making a silly joke about it.

Amen. I don't bother with that thread. It's only going to go one direction.
