*** Official UNI vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

We're winning. We're not in control.

They're 1 play away from being a 1 score game. We have 63 yards of offense. They have 46.

We have 1 first down, they have 3.

We have the three biggest plays.

Our defense is in control.
Our Special teams is good.

Our offense ...... well. 1 quarter in, well. yeah.
We are currently in control and that’s not a debate.

To use your own thought, one play from our offense, defense or special teams and it’s 21-0.

Good lord people.

Synopsis from some in here thus far:

“We aren’t Georgia! We suck! Why aren’t we Georgia!?!?”

You don't need the full playbook. You just need a different play on 1st down than inside zone. Do a zone read. Run a quick slant.

A toss.

You don't need a triple reverse FB throwback pass to the left tackle do hickey.

Just recognize that UNI is packing the box, daring you to go outside.

Two things that I feel are the same that needs to change. 1. Play calls on offense.
2. Rushing the punter. Why do we not try to get a block? I understand it’s designed to block for Noel but what’s the point of the guys just running up 5 feet and not blocking nor blitzing the punter? I truly just don’t understand it

My point was that is exactly the situation where you stay conservative.
True. Definitely Campbell style to try and grind clock when up 2 scores. Just wish the o line could get some push against the smaller d line of UNI

All-planet FCS superathlete Theo Day hasn't impressed me at all. ISU can play it close to the vest in this one if they want.
