***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

I think it's leaned that way for a while. More importantly is the official scorer as some tend to rule more favorably for the home team. Even though they are technically hired by the comms office, many are likely not completely impartial.
I won’t be able to find it but saw tweets a few weeks ago that it’s been trending this way for the last few years but this year especially has been ridiculous statistically

I will take your word on it. Makes sense with offense being down..

Taillon struggled early but at least made it thru 6. Makes the impending loss more palatable.

Taillon really settled in. Hopefully they can get to Miley third time through the order. Really feels like it's this inning or loss.

It goes against what I've wanted all year but Hoerner is not a leadoff man, Swanson is not a 2 hitter, Happ is not a 3 hitter.

Lets bring up PCA 9/1 and let him leadoff. Tired of the weak **** from the top of the order not doing top of the order things.

And I realize that goes against the whole developing thing, but go into it with the mindset he'll be the leadoff next year.

For what its worth, my Craig Counsell being a good manager didn't include his hitters hitting doubles by half of a seam hitting one speck of chalk on the foul line.

They are the same guy. I swear.

It'll be super nice of us to make sure the Brewers won't have to waste their top bullpen arms in game 1 so they're good to go the next two games.

Not just a lack of baserunners but a lack of quality at bats.

I've only followed this thread occasionally over the season, but this post is sooo mbb season in-game worthy!

What the hell do you think got a team with zero expectations to be in the playoffs to this position? Baseball is a long haul. Very few players go though a season without bad stretches. I happy as hell that the Cubs have Swanson, Hoerner, Ross and the rest. Even Wisdom, Morel, ...

Put in Tiller!

Obviously Taillon and the early shaky defense will be the story, but man, the amount of weak ground balls tonight was insane. The next two are gonna be tougher to win than tonight

They didn't even bother teasing us with this one. Earned this loss very early.

I think it’s an overreaction to say tonight was a bad loss, but fair to say it was a pathetic performance.

Dansby has to be half of what he was in April/May. He is absolutely costly out there right now. Terrible bat and looks off defensively.

Bats have to look like they should be playing against October pitchers; I’m not sure what the hell the mindset was in the box tonight, but I haven’t been that disappointed in our bats as a team this whole season.

First game this season with no plate appearances with a runner in scoring position, picked a hell of a time for that. Brewers will be a tough out in the postseason. Pretty terrible lineup but just a nasty pitching staff
