Now…I’ve never heard this man speak before watching this clip. I only post it because I find the few comments attached to it fascinating. Just how people can listen to the exact same thing and hear it so differently.

I think his tone has changed for sure.

ASU was all in on the Pac 12 and sticking it out and being apart of the Pac 12.

Not anymore

"...no matter how it ends up..." language like that tells you where they are leaning. If you're staying then you say you're staying. But when you say things like "no matter how it ends up" it says that they've got one foot out the door.

Both Anderson and Crow (President) have been very pro PAC-12 and it’s leadership in their public comments over the last year. These comments have a very different tone than I’ve heard before, much more open and measured. I would say based on this alone ASU is at least considering a move at this point.

If we take in all these teams from out west they’re gonna want to have the conference basketball tournament in Vegas every few years. I’m not totally opposed. Just wondering if we print out the Hilton West shirts now or wait to see if apple will pay us more money for the t-shirt rights?

And yet, there are people in the comments that hear it the other way…that ASU is staying.

It (the human brain) is fascinating to me. “Hear what you want to hear”, I guess.

Between this and the ASU AD comments, 4 corners to the Big 12 seems more likely
There was a Jim Williams tweet awhile back that I haven't been able to shake.

Apparently someone at the B1G informed UO and WA that they wouldn't consider expansion unless the 4 corners went to the Big 12 (to avoid the perception that that PAC's collapse is their fault).

At the time I read it, I thought it was great for us because that's all the incentive OR/WA need to push the corner schools out.

Now it may actually be coming to fruition.

The PAC is dead. The first stage of grief, for those few who care, is denial. It will be humorous to watch them go through all the stages.

There is zero chance Arizona isnt in the Big 12 by August 31. Zero.

Well , if Arizona dickers around, it could be Oregon. So there's like a 15 percent chance.

That was not my intention, I was just adding context to my post. It is interesting how some people on this site use it critique posters as opposed to discussing the topic at hand.

By the way, when I was at Stanford there were many ISU grads with me on full ride (the only way I could hope to afford it). Stanford holds ISU undergraduate Engineering and Computer science education in high regard. Over and out.
I hope you weren't offended. I was simply making a joke and probably taking advantage of an unfair generalization about Stanford. Your comment didn't come off as braggy at all.

I hope they take 4. That could be a tiny mess long term for the big 10.
Exactly. What do I know, but I just cannot see them taking all 4. 20 members is a huge huge conference, and anything past that would cause too many issues IMO. If they moved to 20 now, they would obviously have to go over 20 to add ND or any ACC schools. I bet they conclude their assessment with a "no" for now, and they come and grab a couple when the next media window comes into focus.

DOH! Having an ISU Comp Sci degree AND having lived in S.F. for 20+, boy did I miss the boat.

The vultures are circling now

This is likely major bullsh*t or super misleading at best. I don’t know who leaked it or what their motive was but someone wanted media to look here instead of somewhere else. Think about it: you mean to tell me that after a months of this Colorado stuff and the last week the waters out west being especially boiling, that just TODAY the BIG started “preliminary” and “exploratory” discussions? What utter crap. They added the LA schools without anyone knowing. They’ve had a plan for MONTHS if not YEARS. There’s some super gullible people out there if they buy this.
