If you read the Denver Post article, their chancellor repeated what some other PAC ADs and Presidents have said about being 3rd highest in revenue when it's over. Now have they seen preliminary numbers that they keep saying it? Or are they setting the expectations so they leave with less-than-ideal numbers? Altimore believes the first. Scheer believes the second. I've seen estimates by Twitter people from $19M each to $40M each, I really don't buy either extreme here. The slightly more sourced people (that still don't know crap) have been from $25M to $32M, and I believe these are possible. Guessing those pushing $28 are going with the law of averages. It sounds like we're gonna know soon. Even if Altimore wins this round, he doesn't seem to understand that all the speculation of teams leaving is going to return as the new contract gets closer to expiring.
As stated so frequently: GOR? Net vs gross? Term? Spin? So many factors discussed, but still under shroud. I live/die B12, but lived in P12 area for most of my life. Best friend deep in Pac12 until 3 years ago. Said mgmt sucked. Was forced into severance package. He still thinks they manage to stick together.

I believe Jim is one of the more knowledgeable and unbiased guys, that still doesn't know any actual details. He is still predicting close to the Big 12 but slightly less.

And how does the PAC spin $28M into a win?

It's sure as **** not SEC money. It's not enough to "go shopping" for Big 12 schools

Their ass of a commish has put them into a wonderful lose-lose position even if they stay together
Don't disagree, but the messaging will be its "on par" and the streaming and PACN show how avant-garde they are and how this is the future, and they will be dominant in just a few years.

It's total BS, but that will be GK's message I would think.

And then if it IS "gross" not "net" - CU and AZ will bail due to money, and GK will act all "shocked and betrayed" about it.

Just define "linear" as the PAC 12 Network and spike the ball.

PAC 12 on Nickelodeon coming to your TV soon

I agree that will be the messaging, but it sure hasn't been the messaging. It will be the spin, but it will be seen as a disappointment because Kliavkoff, between doing card tricks on the Strip, was saying how great it will be.

He's set up the league for a shoulder shrug at best. That's if the deal is on par. But his bluster early shows zero leadership and puts the league in a **** light.

Yormark for the win.

I feel like the presidents are positioning to present a hard and fast deadline to give them the media numbers. Not having the deal on media day feels like a huge egg on the face moment.

I know on the Wednesday Brent and CW pod, they mentioned the actors and writers strike as a negative for realignment because streamers/networks will be losing money, but it also might be what the Pac12 needs if those networks need to fill content that can't be produced during the strike.

The pro PAC Colorado fans are saying that the above proves they left hastily and no reason to do so again. Well, they could look at it as a chance to right a wrong by going back to the Big 12.

I’m as pro B12 as anybody but that $70M figure includes a comparison to a conference with OU and UT as members.

Is this the most the media has ever paid attention to anything related to the PAC-10?
You just have to go back a long ways I would guess early 90s? Ucla/usc were still relevant and Oregon was taking off Washington was ok. It actually used to be decent. Now not so much.
