That dropped 3rd strike rule is strange but that's the rule and there were people yelling 2 outs the whole time.
Gets slightly more confusing and I know my sons team got caught on it when he was catching one time. On a dropped third strike, you can run but not if there is someone on first base, you are just out .........but...... (where my son's team got caught), if there are 2 outs, then you can still run if someone is on first base.

That's a lot of if;then crap for a catcher (OR ump) to keep track of.

Big thing is, if there are 2 outs, throw the ball anyhow. To throw another one in, if the catcher gets far enough out of the baseline before he/she realizes there is a dropped ball then they are just out also.

Honestly, it's like I told one of my daughters old teammates (who is still playing HS softball) while she was sitting at the baseball game after her game finished; she was complaining about the umps and her coaches didn't really stickup for the team much in the situations, I told her that if a coach or someone the umps thinks should know decently contests with confidence, they will generally go with that person. I can't say how many times I yelled locked hands in wrestling or that a runner left early in softball and the ump gave the call then or shortly after. A FEW (yeah lets go with that) of those times, it was marginal at best and I was just trying to help my kids out.

Now my MILs friends are calling my cell phone to get messages to her. Folks, she had 2 kids who live by her, it’s best to call them. I have no idea what these half cryptic messages mean, call blood family. May be mean but I spent 15 years doing EVERYTHING for my mom, I just want a break from it.

Not sad at you. Sad that the connection with her blood kids is apparently limited.

We ran into this with 5th/6th grade baseball and the ump didn't know about the 2 out rule. It's really fun because as long as the batter does not go into the dugout they can run a direct route to first base and not be called out of the basepath. We had a catcher chase a batter to the dugout to tag someone because he didn't know to run

It sucks to be dependable and conscientious.

The base path rule is also an interesting one, the rules on being out of the base path are not spelled out very well and leave plenty of interpretation

They call my wife at times but for some odd reason they default to my number. No idea how they got it. My wife’s bro lives locally but (what we have been told my several my wife’s parents friends) is that they feel he is entitled and spoiled and is difficult to deal with so they don’t deal with him.
