Chris saying that ISU isn’t looking to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on an incoming transfer big man should let y’all know that Nelson isn’t an option.

No reason to blow a ton of NIL resources on a super expensive big in the portal. Especially when the team has already had an impressive spring and is bringing in a Top 10 recruiting class.

What if Nelson doesn't care about the money?

Roster is very different than when he was recruited. He was brought in for 30+ minutes running point, defending and scoring a lot with a true freshman backup. Minutes and shot opportunities project to be much harder to come by in the guard court with the current roster.

Interesting. Wonder if his injury just isn’t healing the way it should, or he saw the writing on the wall sitting behind Lipsey.
But I loved his bench demeanor all year, so excited for the team. Came from Temple with high character and team-guy traits. Big guard known for great defense. Hope we get someone to at least give us an idea, cuz I don't believe its just the 3 guards coming in. Could it be he wants to run the show as starting pg only? Got an NIL offer? Wants to be closer to home?

a
Grant Nelson? Another pg/sg type? Who would we be going after next?
as much as we think Gilbert can do point to spell Lipsey, and maybe PAV or Curtis some, all it takes is an injury like Williams had and then we'd be short pg again. So do we have to take another pg? No one good wants to come play behind Lipsey I doubt. And if we get another big, Ward is stuck, right? ... cuz is it too late to enter transfer portal now? Or he may have to sit out a year? As much as we like a good '5', there may not be any out there now that are better than Ward anyway. Idk.

I’m sure Lipsey is going to work his ass off to improve his perimeter game this offseason and if he does he’s a 30-35 minute a game guy regardless of who else is on the roster. That probably had a lot to do with Williams’ decision.

It's not like he really had a choice in the matter.
Two things can be true. 9/10 times when someone leaves why does everyone assume it’s for playing time?

I’ll just sit back and watch my dumb reactions pile up
