Officiating Sunday was one side

She didn't say she liked the officials not calling a flop warning (it doesn't exist in WBB) but rather she liked the officials not calling fouls when OU players were flopping.
The color person was an old Tennessee coach that was fired because she rode Summit's talent for a few years and then dropped off pretty well for Tennessee standards.

The no calls on slamming the ball in front of the ref or Vic being under the hoop while live action is going on were head scratching. At some point you have to call a T.

Texas plays a physical style of ball and there are a lot of fouls that go uncalled. On the other side, our players fall down quite a bit regardless of who the opponent is. I think that leads to us not getting as many calls. When a player falls down the natural reaction is to call something, but you can't call something every possession either. The thing I appreciate about our team is they keep playing no matter how many fouls get called.

Vic was so far out there, that if the inbounder would have ran to their right and ran into him, it would have forced the ref to call a T you would think.

I have Texas losing early - while I get there isn’t necessarily conference-specific officials, my guess is they’ll have more competent officials than those we saw in the Big 12 Championship game. Just seemed they were too afraid to force Texas to play within the rules and bylaws of the game, which is exactly what their job is.

As an official you want to avoid techs if at all possible, but Vic was BEGGING for it and his actions absolutely required it.

It can be a difficult line to walk. You want to let them play but you don't want it to get rough. It crossed over to the rough side a few times.

The refs missed a lot of the more aggressive fouls, but I thought we got a pretty good whistle in the 2nd half, especially the 3rd quarter. We also fought a lot harder under the hoop. Texas is more aggressive, but that often gets rewarded with fouls on the opponent.

I did not have a general feeling of bad refeeing. Just the failure to call head shots and technicals.

I don't think ISU gals are "coached" to intentionally fall down. Most of the time they are just out-sized & get knocked over.

I agree that they keep on playing no matter how many fouls are called. Has to be frustrating for them at times. (Definitely is frustrating as a fan) The thing I appreciate about the team is that they keep their composure & don't whine to the refs. As CBF says, they play the "Iowa State Way"!

Oh they definitely aren’t coached to do that. I think it’s all a size/strength deal. We have had a lot of success with the typical type of player Fennelly recruits but there are downsides too. We are usually more of a finesse team. Not a knock on Fennelly or the team at all. Just an observation.

1st half Texas was over the back 3-4 times on rebounds with no calls in a rugby match. In fact ISU was called instead about 2 times for being jumped upon by Texas. 2nd half calls were called much closer and that’s what turned the tide.

I enjoy the troll attempt by @MisterO . Agrees with this post, but made that God awful thread complaining about a preview picture on ESPN+.
Officiating and ESPN are two different things. You will seldom hear me complaining about officiating. Those guys have a hard job and it’s nothing personal against Iowa State.
ESPN is fair game- they have an agenda and we aren’t a part of it- I pull no punches when they disrespect our school.

I think Denae Fritz summed up the officiating nicely with "that call is f**** Bulls*** "
When/where did she say that?

But if it wasn't for her we never would've gotten Alexa Middleton.

Well they both sucked. The women's game deserves better than that. My wife could have done a better job and the highest level she played was HS.

First half under our basket- She got mugged when she had the ball and it pops out (foul) she goes for it gets hammered again they call her for the foul.
