***2022-23 MBB General Thread***

Looks like Vermont was supposed to be playing in a new arena last year, but it is still under construction after 4 years.

I think I have a natural affinity for small gyms at mid-major schools like this going back to my time in grad school at Central Michigan. They played basketball at a tiny little arena called the Rose Center that was inside of the Rec. Center on campus that held around 5,200 people at full capacity. The team was just bad my first year, pretty good my second year, and when you had all 5,200 seats filled making noise it was a pretty damn fun environment to be in, especially when you're so close to the floor you can hear the players talking to each other and hear the coaches yelling at the officials. I'm not going to compare it to Hilton at full throttle, but like I wrote above when those small gyms get going it creates one hell of a fun and frenzied game environment.

Vermont was supposed to play Miami but that game got canceled. Wonder if the committee will match them up, but not sure Miami will be a high enough seed to play a 13 or 14.

Probably won't happen, the way seed lines are likely to align. Miami is probably a 5 (maybe fringe 4), Vermont most likely a 15 (could be fringe 14).

I didn't realize there was cancelation for that game - had to look it up (late December)

I've watched a lot of Purdue's games the last 2 days and they don't look great.

Damn OSU is looking good. It’d be crazy if they could win 5 in 5 days
They're playing a house of cards in Purdue.

A 13/10 Final in the B1G tourney would get ESPN so jacked up about all those bids though.

Probably put some classic Big Ten footage from 20-30 years ago up all day Monday.

Lunardi has Miami as a 6 and Vermont as a 14 in the same group, so a potential second round matchup.

Purdue player sets a pick and is knocked on his ass.
Annoucer says: "Shows the Physicality of the B1G 10".
Like picks don't happen in other conferences.
