***2022-23 MBB General Thread***

I said it before, Purdue isn't going to make it past the first weekend.
They are actually Top 20 in both offense and defense this year. Usually they are a top 5 offense and bad defense. Their metrics align with some of their Elite 8 teams.

That being said wouldn't surprise me at all if they lost in 2nd round.

Watch them play. They don’t look like a second weekend team at all. Their guards are not good.

Houston in a battle with... East Carolina??
I think Houston is a good team but I also think their numbers are inflated from the teams they have played.
I don't know. They beat St Mary's at a neutral site and Virginia at Virginia and swept Memphis. Only losses are to Alabama and a fluke league game that could happen to anyone in league play.

I think they're really good but they just don't get the same number of opportunities for big wins that others do. Thankfully that rectifies itself next year.

If Penn St and Rutgers make the dance.. They both HAVE to be in the first four..

That conference is the definition on mediocre
That's a feature and not a bug of the selection process, NET and 'Quad' groupings. It gets mediocre P6 teams in the tournament because they are just good enough to win 4 or 5 of their 15 opportunities against good teams.

Watching the Ohio State - MSU game and the announcer just said Ohio state has been playing as one of the best teams in the country the last 3 weeks….yikes.

Which country? Big Ten country? Maybe. ut that's still well below the level of teams that played in Kansas City on Wednesday.
