Refresh my memory. How many Conference games did we win the year before TJ arrived? I am sticking with TJ. Say Hi to Steve at your next get together.
Lol how did this turn into a Prohm thing? I am also sticking with TJ. I’m pumped we have TJ and I love what he’s doing so far. Can’t wait to see what he can do with Omaha and Milan!!

I just want to set some expectations for some who appear to really need it.

We will make the NCAA tournament.

We will not win it all.

And that's ok.
I Assume what U R saying is that we are not Kansas or Texas in MBB...If thats so you are right my friend...KU has been winning conference championships and natl titles for a long time...texas has now gone out and bought a winning basketball program!!

MONEY trumps recruiting these days!!

I mean obviously Iowa State makes the tournament but I will say, thank god the Big 12 is viewed as a really good conference because I don’t think this team is very good and every time they lose, it doesn’t seem to hurt our chances.
The conference strength is THE reason for the loses!

If they were winning more in a lesser conference would that make them good?

Better win those home games.

Everyone expecting a miraculous turn around like last year? Can you really count on miraculous?

There's no guarantee we'd have a better record the last month playing in a conference like the Big 10 or SEC. We got blown out by those 7th and 8th place level teams already.

Yeah, if we got a few Minnesota, Georgia, Ole Miss type games we'd have alot of wins, but we'd probably be in a similar 4-6, 3-7 type stretch if we played the tourney and bubble teams in those conferences.

Maybe finish 10-8. That’s assuming we win out at home and after the OSU game, who knows. Iowa State is good at home, absolutely horrendous on the road, okay in neutral site games. Iowa State has lost 8 out of 12 games and it’s kind of being ignored because the Big 12 is viewed so highly.
And if we were in a ****** conference, say the B1G, we would probably be about 22-5

Reading through these threads I seriously doubt some people even understand quad wins and what the committee looks at but I digress. Iowa State is still a 3 seed, yes even after last night, why? Compare them to St. Mary's since a lot of you just look at total wins.

St. Mary's 23-5 (2-1) quad 1 wins, good win Gonzaga who is currently a 4 seed.

Iowa State 17-10 (8-10) quad 1 wins, good wins Kansas 1 seed, Texas 2 seed, Baylor 2 seed, K state 3 seed and I could go on.

These resumes aren't even comparable which is why one team is a 3 seed and the other is out of the top 16. ISU will more than likely finish 19-12 going into March madness and will be right on the 4-5 seed line.

Pulling off the wins would have been nice but having a chance on the road almost every game with the make up of this team is better than a whole bunch of years at ISU. And that's without bad TCU and Tech that used to be essentially 'gimmes'.
