I saw the attached infographic this week, and found the dichotomy of Europe/Asia vs US interesting. And I love the mental image of everyone in Zimbabwe listening to Thin Lizzy non-stop.

My most-listened to would likely be Bowie, maybe the Stones. Beatles are certainly up there. I have a mental block with Nirvana being considered classic rock.

What would your top classic rock band be?

I really like the idea of these underground communities spreading Chicago CDs and mp3s in the early 2000s, just changing the Ugandan future forever and making Peter Cetera a **** ton of money.

Yeah, it is a pretty close race between Bowie and the Stones for me. They fill entirely different spaces, but are both amazing.

I was in my 20s during the 90s and while I can appreciate Nirvana as the flagbearers for a new musical genre, I never really went all in on grunge. I was more of a Pavement guy during that time.

We listen to a couple bands a lot while making dinner and hanging out around the kitchen island: Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, The Band. I like that those bands are kind of "smoother" rock.

I listen to a lot of Malkmus’ solo stuff, too. He is so frigging talented.

I also love Finland living up to the Scandinavian metal stereotype.

Similar when I’m in the kitchen. Alexa play Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Neil Young.

I have a Spotify playlist entirely composed of “Bowie singing **** in other languages.” There is a remarkable amount of it out there, especially German. “Helden” instead of “Heroes” is fantastic.
