It's crazy to think that if we would have won Saturday we would have been probably #8 or so in the polls. And if we won tonight and if we win Saturday in Columbia the chances of us being top 5 would be extremely high. Oof.

As it stands, after tonight and if we win in Columbia and depending how teams ahead of us do, we're likely 7th or 8th.

Love it! Need to remind myself it'll be a rough conference pillow fight the rest of the way...and get over the loss of OKie state that would have given some breathing room....but for now ..keep doing our thing and control our own fate!

That was Jeff van Gundy, but what was he doing in Ames? I kind of missed that.
I’m pretty sure he showed up to a practice before the season and was blown away by the high intensity training TJ puts the guys through. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts showing up a few times a year. Please act cool cyclone fans. I was across the arena and at one point a fan came down from the concourse and it got a little cringy.

I'd guess we jump TCU and KU if we all win, as well as Texas if they lose to Tennessee. Poll inertia probably prevents moving much higher assuming no major upsets. So probably 9 or 10. If we don't win we probably stay where we're at like last week.

Stan Van Gundy comes to Ames for home games now, that’s the ultimate compliment to a college basketball venue
I loved it when they called a foul on Shoon on a block. They pan to Van Gundy. He is looking at the replay and he says something like that is a good block. Even Van Gundy knew that Shoon got screwed on the call.

I was thinking about this last night. I wonder if they will rest Caleb at Misery to try to get him over this. I am fine with potentially sacrificing a non-con game to increase the chances of the conference prize.
I’d be OK resting Grill for the next week. Cyclones just need to split the next two road games (Mizzou and Tech), get everyone rested and healthy for the conference stretch run starting with KU on Feb 4.

Not exactly sure.
Rest him for Mizzou for sure. It would be great if we got Jaz back soon and that could help replace caleb a bit as another 3 point threat.

Pillow fight? The big 10 west in football is a pillow fight. The big 12 bball schedule is more like a royal rumble (if wrestling were real).
