A good deal of California is arid or desert climate.
And strangely enough, places like the Mojave desert are drier than normal too and considered in a drought. Not because it’s a desert. You understand what drought means, right?

Mid January and it’s 40+ outside. Whar my snow?!?

It'll be here eventually. It seems like January is usually more our bitter cold month and February into march where we get more of the snow accumulations. Hopefully we got our bitter cold out of the way last month, I'm fine with riding with a couple weeks in the 40s after that.

Got plenty here. Had to look for my vintage cross country gaiters to put over my winter boots for walkabout in the woods the other day. Was thinking of something my dad said to little kid me as I was "helping" him shovel "Pile it further back, there's more coming." Exiting my alley my view north is completely blocked by snow, have to nose out into the street and hope if someone's coming they will go around or stop.

On our way to Ames for wrestling. No issues thus far, several mike visibility and no ice accumulation on road or vehicle.

Frosty and a bit of fog here in Ames. People are forgetting their headlights, though. Sigh.
