This will help his draft stock. Starting to see a lot of mocks having X going in the 4-5th round.
I was afraid that him coming back and being on a garbage offensive would hurt him. Things like this make it seem not to be the case
Probably the only bright spot on the offense. He made some incredible plays this year.
This is kinda ludicrous isn’t it ? Nothing but respect for the kid. Hope he makes it. But 1st team is a stretch IMO.
In some respects he seems the most complete WR ISU has ever had. If I asked what Cyclone receiver is most like a Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald it’s very obviously X. Our other best WRs were tall big play threats rather than guys who were elite at finding the open space like X is.
We’ve previously had two running backs that were definitely #1 in college football, maybe a few defensive players. It’s certainly not common for ISU to have the best skill position player. I believe PFF may have had Montgomery as top RB in addition to Breece and Davis was before their time. PFF is more stat focused than other honors so I think there’s plenty of basis for it.
In the early games where we could run the ball at least a little he was even more lethal.
I struggle to think of a better receiver in the college game right now than X. We asked him to do everything with no help.
If X is floating around in the 5th round I'd be surprised. Our offense would have been garbage without him. Think we're gonna see a case like Breece or Montgomery when he hits the NFL, and we're all going to realize how good he was at ISU. NFL scouts need to start looking at ISU offensive players who perform well because they're doing it with our offensive line play.
