So here is my take, Campbell is our best coach in history. Check yourself.

He has faults like everyone. One of his being that he is loyal to his people. But that has also been the reason he is still here. So again, check yourself.

The problems I see are, poor offensive scheme, especially for the lineup. Poor play calling, Poor offensive execution, Poor O Line blocking in both pass and run. This caused a young QB to get flustered and make mistakes. These are on the OLine Coach, and the OC, and because CMC is the final call and the one that does not make changes to either the overall schemes/work them out or change the staff as needed it also does fall on him.

This is also a huge problem on special teams and has been for years, yet we still dont hire a coach. This one is on CMC.

In the end CMC is still our best ever coach. Everyone expected us to have a down year, but when we beat Iowa we got our hopes up. But still take a breather, realize we need to fix things, and yes CMC needs to address the issues. But in the end he has done more for ISU football than anyone has ever. So lets cut him some slack. Lets remember we are rebuilding, and we lost a lot from last year. We were hopeful but we do have some young guys to develop. I do think CMC does need to address the above issues, but I do think he has earned some respect.

I remember years ago they sat down and redrew the entire Defensive plan and it has been top notch ever since. It is time they do the same for the offense. I hope they do.

Jon Heacock completely uprooted what his group was doing when it got sideways in 2017 and got better results. The people in charge of the other side of the ball don't have it in them to do the same.

The one that killed me, was the delay of game after the possession change. That is really really bad, and 100 percent a coaching problem and a huge sign of disorganization and lack of planning.

That's been a theme for a long while.

There's just no 'step on foot, apply pressure' when the chance arises.

The fact that you can’t get under center is an enormous problem. Even if you weren’t going to go for it, you have to get under center if you’re trying to make them jump. The threat is 10 times more real if you’ve got a 250 pound quarterback giving a hard count and he’s right in your face. As a D lineman, you feel like you need to have your timing exact. 5 yards back…eh…got time.
Agree. Seems like some common sense. And then the continued predictability, and lack of ingenuity per our skill set/players, is still a chin scratcher.

I don't often say this but we were outcoached.

Good points, yes. Respect, yes, of course. But Campbell needs to let go of some of the details. He needs to hire the right people, and give them a bit more control. He still controls the offense, perhaps too much. He gives Manning his marching orders. So Campbell is to blame here.

For the rest of the year, let Manning let loose a little more. Let him have more, not less control. Just a thought. If we still see the same tendancies, the predictability, then let Manning go after this year.

Getting a better O-line means changing the OL coach. It hasn't been a strong point in 6 years and it HAS to be.

Get a Special Teams coach.

Edit: I may be way off on thinking Manning needs more, not less control. I just think a lot of the Offensive structure and design is due to Campbell. He gets the credit when it goes well. He needs to make some changes when it doesn't.

Not great, Bob. (I hope this is more "general frustration" and not one teammate targeting another, because Dekkers didn't exactly light it up today.)

Oof. Not sure you can trust just anything on Twitter these days, but if this is true…. Then there are more issues with ISU football than just being unable to score against the worst defense in the Big 12.

That's a **** move if true, maybe if he would have actually put the ball in the endzone we wouldn't have to rely on kickers. Besides, if you need 4 field goals to beat Kansas you are doing something wrong.

Said in another tweet she was at the game and saw it herself. She looks like a diehard Clone and not a Twitter dumbass so I believe her. (Doesn't mean her interpretation in the moment is correct.)

We did.

Also really pathetic is - so X is short of the sticks, OK - 4th and inches. What does literally EVERY player on our offense do!? They look to the sidelines with TOTAL confusion! In THAT major moment of the game, our offense had NO idea what the next call was going to be. The staff had NO idea what to do. So they spun for 10 seconds, everyone continuing to look nervous and confused, and finally we burn our last time out! Which OK fine, time out is fine I suppose. But in that timeout - our staff decides to KICK it! Our staff, after allowing everyone to have total confusion with the game on the line - finally calls time out, had a chance to digest the situation and correctly go for it on 4th down - instead decides to put their extremely rattled freshman kicker out there!

It’s beyond bizarre how chaotic and mishandled that entire situation was.
I think that's on Campbell. He's done this before. Maybe he needs to stop the micromanaging. Something is causing the confusion and I don't think it's the players.
I didn't see that, but it was pretty ******* inexcusable for them to not have a 4th down play with less than a minute ready to go. Either know that you're calling the timeout there, or have a play ready. The staff seemed entirely unprepared for that situation, which is just inexcusable. Really ******* terrible coaching at the end.
Ha, we’re on the same page here. My goodness, it’s hard to fathom and FBS staffing being that unprepared and disjointed.

The stuff with what looked like teammates arguing and him arguing with CMC is interesting.

I also still don't haven't seen why Norton was held back.

Duh!
Will the fact that KU should have lost have some in the media tap the brakes. How’s Daniel’s Heisman campaign going. Only a little bitter.

Isn't he still hurt? Was he supposed to play?

Went to the game. In my opinion, even with two backs out, didn’t seem like CMC to go for overtime.Seems he is for living with results. Two,I think Dekkers will get there, but the naysayers from previous seasons need to step back and appreciate what we had in Brock Purdy. And,CMC will right the ship. Last, sure enjoyed talking to the fans, including players’ parents, and asking a couple KU bandwagoners to check themselves after the finish. If you’re going to win,win with some class.See you in Hilton.
