Just heard on a podcast that Nebraska’s interim head coach is the first African American coach in the history of Nebraska athletics. Not just football, all sports.

America
Don't want Campbell for Nebraska and his teeth and team ******** for an excuse. He wouldn't fit.

He would definitely win at Nebraska. 7 wins will get you fired in Lincoln. I don't want him. No thanks.

He looks surprised too often.
The Huskers would have been favored in each game against your team during the last 5 years. lol

I don't want your coach. He's not ready for major cfb
So dumb. I'm not going to post on here anymore. I feel like like I'm punching down.

It's like a whole fanbase with learning disabilities. It's very disappointing.

I think Neb has serious cultural problems that make it very difficult to win there. Diversity of leadership is one of them.
But let's not pretend that ISU has a lot of room to talk. Both universities (and almost every other school in the country) could do better in terms of hiring/promoting coaches of color, especially in sports that have a high percentage of black athletes.

Oh for sure. And I think there’s a chance Scheelhaase could be our next HC someday. But yes, we could be doing better.

Sounds like Urban likes Lincoln.

I dont think Trev will be able to have the patience to wait for CMC and he will get pressured to go for a sure thing instead of waiting till december to talk to CMC. Thats why Trev needs to quickly show his work but the pressure will be too difficult to withstand.

Spot on. Trev is taking a big risk firing Frost after 3 games because now the clock starts on the coaching search — in mid-September. I know he’s filling the void by promoting an assistant but no one’s ever heard of Mickey Joseph. If the Huskers don’t win more than a few games the interim coach doesn’t buy him anything. I just can’t see Trev holding out til early December for Campbell or anyone else for that matter. What if he doesn’t get said candidate at that time?

He will wait. USC waited last year in same situation.

LOL our A.D. isn't the one that wasted 7.5 MILLION dollars by firing their coach 21 days (or whatever it was) too soon. Sound use of that B1G tv money that you've done nothing to earn. Glad you whiny b*tches are gone.

Frost getting into the teeth of the big ten west schedule could have easily resulted in him ending the season on a high note. Losing to NW and Ga Southern probably left their ceiling lower than being bowl eligible. A worst case scenario would be 5 win season that ended beating Iowa or Wisconsin in late November. He couldn't risk Frost being good enough to bring back, he had to strike while the fan base was at their lowest.

Promoting Joseph is perfect, Trev gets some protection while they pat themselves on the back for the diversity hire (some fans are already pretending like they invented hiring minorities bc its the first time they've ever thought about it) , it keeps the current players more engaged and could keep possible recruits in the fold a bit longer. It also takes some of the pressure off of the season, if Joseph does well, he can stick around, if the struggles continue, oh well, everyone knows a change is coming. Plus, Joseph isn't just some guy, he is well known as a recruiter and has been a part of successful programs at multiple stops. It makes sense to see what you have in house if you think there is potential, especially because you're getting a hall pass on the rest of the season.
