The old Casey's single seater behind the counter was an elite place to take a dump.Every K&G bathroom I've ever been in is immaculate. I've walked out of Casey's and back to my car to pinch it until the next small town or remote ditch. Casey's isn't even worth shitting in.
I made some bacon jam last week and it was fantastic. Never tried it on pizzaSausage and dip the crust in the Bacon Jam (if I have some in the fridge). Got the recipe from a cook at the omelet station in my office a few years back.
Bacon Jam
1 lb bacon or pork belly
1 white onion
2 cups brown sugar
2 oz soy sauce
2 oz worcestershire sauce
2 oz jalapeno vinaigrette made 1 day before (or just white vinegar with some cayenne pepper thrown in)
2 oz day old coffee
They’ll tell you it was a walk of shame leaving and seeing the clerk right there, what it really was was a walk of pride. The old Casey's single seater behind the counter was an elite place to take a dump.
Pro move: Make your purchase and leave the merchandise at the end of the counter. That Mountain Dew always tasted a little better after you come strutting through that swinging door letting everyone know you just absolutely murdered that single seater. They’ll tell you it was a walk of shame leaving and seeing the clerk right there, what it really was was a walk of pride.
We went to Carroll a couple weeks ago and one of the small towns just outside had beautifully made and cooked pizza and donuts. You could tell an older lady is the cook, not some wasted punk that doesn't give 2 ***** like in Ankeny. Which blows me away that they don't have quality assurance in the town where they are based. That seems to be the problem with Casey's pizzas lately. They all seem to be undercooked to me. The dough is too ... doughy. It could stand to cook for 5 more minutes, IMO.
I wouldn’t say far superior, but definitely underrated. For me it’s the crust.K&G breakfast pizza is far superior to Caseys.
We just recently were introduced to Casey's where I live and now there are like 4-5 stores in my area. The first one opened about a year and a half ago, so they moved fast. I've found the pizza quality is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes, I think it's the best pizza I ever had and sometimes, I think they forgot half the ingredients and didn't cook it nearly long enough. I mean it's wildly inconsistent from store to store, but also within the same store. We went to Carroll a couple weeks ago and one of the small towns just outside had beautifully made and cooked pizza and donuts. I grabbed a beer cheese pizza slice on my way home. I must admit it was pretty tasty. After reading this thread all morning, I had to stop at Casey's for a lunch slice. I wanted to try the new beer cheese breakfast one, as the ads I see for it all say 'served all day'. I was disappointed to see the Casey's in Kieler, WI didn't have any in the case. Either it's false advertising or maybe it's just so popular they couldn't keep up with demand.
Either way, I enjoyed a large slice of non breakfast sausage pizza instead. Still quite satisfying.
Bonus points if you were A) first in line, and B) walked out to a newly-formed line, knowing full well you just created holy agony for the next user. The old Casey's single seater behind the counter was an elite place to take a dump.
I’d guess the constant turnover of workers has to squirrel up consistency. We just recently were introduced to Casey's where I live and now there are like 4-5 stores in my area. When I was younger and lived elsewhere working a job that barely paid minimum wage, I almost lived on Casey's pizza because it was cheap, good and there was a Casey's across the alley from where I lived. I don't remember it being this inconsistent back then.
