I use to work with Jeremy Gosch at the Indianola Hy-Vee. Very reserved guy back then. I'm shocked he made it that far.
My brother used to work at that store quite a few years ago. I'll have to ask him if he ever crossed paths with him.

Honestly don't know - would that be a good thing? Only ever lived in Iowa and despite a lot of stupid business decisions, I still like Hy-Vee over Fareway. My hope is it would possibly make Hy-Vee focus more on grocery rather than all the fluff and other ventures, but don't know enough about Kroeger to know if that would be the case.
Worked in the company for a long time. I was never able to crack the code they use to promote or make hiring decisions with. There were so many head scratchers, and still are based on what I hear from friends who still work for them.

I didn't know that Kroger and Hy-Vee may be talking, but it makes sense.
Kroger bought the Hy-Vee of the mid-Atlantic region, Harris Teeter, a decade ago. It kept the Harris Teeter brand, so I assume this would mean Hy-Vees would remain Hy-Vees as well and not be changed to Krogers.

Been told they'll keep the Hy-Vee name. Not some insider or employed by the company, at least not since I was a kid.
Having lived in Michigan, Kroger's is dreadful.
Hy-Vee has a very small handful of items that I will go in there on a special trip to get. Also love the HyChi but haven't hit that in some time. And...the produce section is above average, esp compared to Walmart, but I rarely make a special trip for that.
I'm most often going to a particular out-of-the-way Hy-Vee store because their Wine & Spirits section is elite and I can sometimes find stuff there that I can't get anywhere else. Otherwise I stick to my mom & pop local store for those purchases. I don't know why the W&S is that different between two stores 7 miles apart, but they are.

I haven't lived in Michigan since 2005, but I remember it being analogous to Hy-Vee. I always shopped at Meijer.
Plus those HyVee eatery areas are a good place to meet up with tax clients LOL
