I'm good with letting Kepler go too. Let the younger guys have the AB's. I think we know who Kepler is at this point a .230 at best hitter who strikes out too much and is an average OFer with not a great arm.
He is.I though he had always been considered well above average defensively.
You guys are right he is according to the numbers. Surprised me for sure! I've watched a lot of games the last 3-4 years and don't see it but the numbers don't lie. As the numbers don't lie that the last few years offensively haven't been close to his best.He is.
He’s WAR is still 1.5 for this year. You guys are right he is according to the numbers. Surprised me for sure! I've watched a lot of games the last 3-4 years and don't see it but the numbers don't lie. As the numbers don't lie that the last few years offensively haven't been close to his best.
I agree but this new format could allow whomever it is to sneak through the first round, especially since it will be 3 at home.As a life long Twins fan, I want to see them succeed.... that being said, whoever wins the Central this year will likely be a non factor in the playoffs.
Agree. Twins could beat the Rays or Indians in a three-game series.I agree but this new format could allow whomever it is to sneak through the first round, especially since it will be 3 at home.
I would argue Toronto as well if they were to fall there.Agree. Twins could beat the Rays or Indians in a three-game series.
Toronto’s lineup scares me. Doesn’t seem like the best matchup. At the same time, you never know what might happen in a best-of-3. Will just be happy if the Twins find a way to win the division.I would argue Toronto as well if they were to fall there.
And yet the Twins won the season series 4 games to 3. (Should have been 5 games to 2)Toronto’s lineup scares me. Doesn’t seem like the best matchup. At the same time, you never know what might happen in a best-of-3. Will just be happy if the Twins find a way to win the division.
If Correa did opt in for another season, the Twins would be more realistic to make a playoff run than this season. Mahle and Lopez are back, maybe pick up a #2 or #3 starter in the off season and they look more stable.Good to see Arraez break out of his mini-slump.
Now we need to get Correa to carry his weight. Certainly not hitting at a $35 million clip. I'm starting to buy into the argument being made that with his current performance, Carlos might not find a better contract than next year's opt in with the Twins.
But then do what with Buxton during all his DH days?Twins missed out by not trading for another bat at the deadline. Bringing back Nelson Cruz would be interesting if he was released by the Nationals.
He won’t, IMO. They still need a stopgap SS before Lewis comes back (and pray he does what he’s capable of).If Correa did opt in for another season, the Twins would be more realistic to make a playoff run than this season. Essentially. 60 day IL again.Did the Twins finally pull the plug on Sano?
