Tech has now established a NIL Fund.

It must be. I read that the guy heading up their collective, Cody Campbell, alone made a $25 million donation to the university to have part of the stadium named after him. You don't get that wealthy just by holding a BA in Communications from TT.

I admittedly did not know this. Kind of just assumed they didn't. I thought they focused more on ag and engineering similar to ISU. Talking out of my ass, which I have been known to do from time to time.
I'm assuming Tech is just really trying to get out in front of the next realignment fiasco and wanting to make sure they're visible too.
I think their marketing the last couple years has been pretty solid. They seem much more visible than a decade ago.

Ive heard from multiple state fans that they are tapped out.
It's not about the people that are tapped out, it's about the people that give nothing. We lead the big 12 in zero $ givers as a percent of graduates. Huge potential in numbers of givers, but they just don't give squat.

Rastetter (who named a company Hawkeye) has a large and rich friends list.

A lot is a lot, you're just being difficult, which is nothing new.
Did u know that Bruce has given in the low seven figures to ISU?

Has “The Walkway” to the stadium been named yet?

I agree, there is a large number of people who think just buying tickets to stuff is enough. It use to be, but not in 2022. We still have to have some of the cheapest season tickets in the power 5. The same people who give nothing are the ones constantly complaining.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but can you link the data that say that?

That has been shown ad naseum on here many times.

I don't have the patience to search for it.

The last time was about 60 days ago.

Sorry for the no answer.

Jacobsen had given a lot to all schools. What's your point?
Rastetter or Jacobson are we talking about.

You used him as an example that gives to Iowa. I was just pointing out that he gives to Iowa State.

Roy Carver Foundation has given probably $35 million to ISU.

All schools have big givers. We don't have the masses. That is the difference - not big givers.

I think Swarbrick’s thought of a split between semi-pro and academic teams is inevitable. A lot of schools can’t buy players.

And you don't you think that has a direct correlation to what majors a school predominantly produces?

That's very possible and totally understandable, but like it or not, it's a reality that we have to face.

I always think my vet bill is high but medical costs are freaking robbery.
Agreed. Daughter thought about vet school but when she saw that she would be getting essentially medical school debt with a much lower earnings potential (large animal, not soccer moms' pets) she shelved that idea.

I had a college friend who couldn’t get into vet school but did get into Iowa medical school. There are a lot fewer vet schools.
