I have said this many times. Lawyers and doctors are not big givers.
The economy has been great in Texas for a long time. Oil has been good too.
We have a culture of giving to the Foundation and not to athletics.
I don't know about the lawyers and doctors part. Iowa gets a lot of donor money from that alum base.

A much greater percentage of their fans (vs ISU) are not graduates. These people give to athletics and not to their Foundation.
I am not sure what "a lot of money from their alum base" means. Any facts and figures to back up AD department giving of grads vs mon-grads?
I would except out Roy Carver, an Illinois grad.
I can count easily 10 people I know that give to Iowa that are non-grads. I can easily count 10 people that I know that Iowa State grads that give nothing.
This is not a statistically significant study (haha) but I am comfortable drawing conclusions.
I haven't seen much from them. The We Will collective seems a tad underwhelming compared to some of our peer schools like Tech.

Rastetter has an impressive Hawkeye circle. Remember he gave millions alone to IA's practice facility, and I'm not sure how often regents do that. His rolodex is massive.
Bob Downer ran around in those regent/U of I circles.

Who knows how much Pomerantz and Branstad gave/came up with.
I admittedly did not know this. Kind of just assumed they didn't. I thought they focused more on ag and engineering similar to ISU. Talking out of my ass, which I have been known to do from time to time.
Ever university has those givers......we have Sukups, Stark, Reiman, Albaugh, etc. and many more. We don't have the masses giving, especially people who graduated from ISU.
Jerry Ivy - gave $50 million to the College of Business. Turk Terkleson gave $42 million to the IE department. Two anonymous donors gave $150 million and $25 million respectively, to the liberal arts college and the new student activity center. What do they give to athletics? Wonderful gifts.
What does being an ag school have to with not having a med school?
10 of the 14 big ten schools are ag schools. Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Clemson are ag schools.
I never said ISU didn't have generous donors, I said Iowa athletics gets a lot of money from lawyers and doctors, and named some after you asked me to.
What is a lot? As a percent of total? Total dollars?
Does Iowa get more donations from doctors and lawyers vs ISU? Yes. Is it material? No?

Also, the ISU med school is the best in the nation. Probably the world.
