He's talking about you, Rutgers.
Yes, the PAC would love to take Okie State. But no team in their right mind is leaving the Big 12 for the PAC right now. PAC was in terrible shape before losing their biggest brand and another one of their better brands. And no one thinks Oregon is locked in in the PAC.It is because some of the takes on here are far fetched at times and fascinating to read. If the PAC stays with 10 and tries to add other schools. I am not sure why OSU would not be part of a discussion to add a team. and then taking the Texas schools makes a ton of sense in getting a texas market in place before Fox negotiates a deal in 2024.
It’s honestly a good thing we already did this last summer so we know what’s up. Time to send that TAMU reporter another box of chocolates.May just be trying to salvage what‘s left of conference with Boise/San Diego St etc.
North carolina and probably Duke will go to the B1G.You get Arizona schools, and Utah, then give your best pitch to Oregon, then when the ACC inevitably implodes you go after Duke and North Carolina
There is speculation by more than just a few hawk fans that the PAC is going to poachYes, the PAC would love to take Okie State. But no team in their right mind is leaving the Big 12 for the PAC right now. PAC was in terrible shape before losing their biggest brand and another one of their better brands. And no one thinks Oregon is locked in in the PAC.
PAC's as good as dead. People that think the PAC is going to poach the Big 12 are just showing how clueless they are about this topic.
I see Syracuse with the NY connection to the B1G at some pointNorth carolina and probably Duke will go to the B1G.
When the ACC implodes we will be looking at Pitt, Louisville, maybe GA Tech depending on the B1G.
My guess BC and Syracuse will be on the outside looking in.
Most of the others will go to the SEC.
I can totally see this as happening if those 10 stay togetherWhen the remaining 10 sign a GOR, I’ll start to get nervous. Until then, that statement is complete ********.
Pac 10 + ISU, KSU, KU, OSU, Tech & Houston is what I’m rooting for though
If I am ISU and the PAC asks them to come along with most of the rest, I would do it. It is just going to be who asks first. If it is only a few and ISU is asked then you also go. The big 12 does not have much TV sets and most schools are secondary in their state like ISU, Cincy, Texas (although just getting on TV there would be huge).
Which makes me wonder, what channels or providers are wanting Big 12 games in the new deal in 2025?
I honestly think the Pac 12 absorbing some Big 12 schools if it includes ISU (which I think it would), would be a good thing for ISU and much stronger conference than what they are looking at now from a money perspective.I agree. I just can’t figure out where all the optimism is coming from.
If (when) the ACC implodes, UNC goes to the BIG or SEC. UNC and Virginia are the battle line between the BIG and SEC. Notre Dame may be part of that too if they can't stay independent. You get Arizona schools, and Utah, then give your best pitch to Oregon, then when the ACC inevitably implodes you go after Duke and North Carolina
Because 99% of these media people have no idea about the GOR. They pull numbers out of their ass. They also say that NC is going to the B1G and Clemson is going to the SEC, but forget that unless their is a way to break the GOR it would be close to $1Billion (with a B) per school to get out of the ACC right now, as some have figured. Unless there is a back door in the GOR which I dont think anyone knows outside of the conference, and I doubt they A)would share it, B)would put a clause to make it easy to get out defeating the purpose of said GOR.Why disagree with my post then post something similar lol. It is either 150 or 200 million as has been reported in the last hour on espn and by other media and twitter beat writers. Not my fault you do not like that aspect of news or reports but it is a thing lol.
Way more stable IMO.I honestly think the Pac 12 absorbing some Big 12 schools if it includes ISU (which I think it would), would be a good thing for ISU and much stronger conference than what they are looking at no from a money perspective.
And you know this how? how do you know about the ACC GOR more than any other person out there?Because 99% of these media people have no idea about the GOR. They pull numbers out of their ass. They also say that NC is going to the B1G and Clemson is going to the SEC, but forget that unless their is a way to break the GOR it would be close to $1Billion (with a B) per school to get out of the ACC right now, as some have figured. No **** Sherlock that’s why I asked for a link, to learn about what he was talking aboutHere’s a thought: you dont actually know everything.
Well, as much as I hate OU and UT and always will for stabbing the rest of the Big XII in the back, at least they did us the small mercy of beating USC and UCLA to this. Getting to grab BYU and Houston before the PAC 12 could get to them now makes it appear as if the Big XII is more likely to survive than the PAC 12. Imagine how bad of a position Iowa State would be in if UCLA and USC had announced this a year ago and it was OU and UT that announced this week? We'd be in a bad, bad place.
Yeah, the amount of confidence on this board right now is pretty wild, particularly when you consider what we've been through the last decade. There's no such thing as solid ground.
There is almost nothing on this on the Michigan boards and the sparty boards don’t have a ton of realignment talk. I like ISU, think Campbell is a great coach and like getting others prospective outside of the sparty and Michigan echo chambers. Why do you spend all your time on an ISU board. I would think the MSU board would be blowing up about all of this today. Dont they like you there?
I find it strange the people like surly, you, all the hok fans that spend so much time here rather than on their own boards. I often wonder why that is. Is it because they are closet Cyclone fans? Is it because they are that disliked on their own fan boards? Is it because we live in their heads rent free so much? Really what is it? I have never been to a rival schools board. I have absolutely no need to, and absolutely no want to. I just don't understand it. Especially not to go and spend as much time as some to here.
Sometimes you guys give a little good conversation, most of the time it mostly trolling. Sometimes I think you try to come off sounding sincere but your bias to your school and conference still comes out to make it sound very trolling.
I realize we are all biased here, for ISU and the Big 12, but that is kind of the point this is an ISU board.
