there is your 4 team pod.....UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington.

why do I feel like Iowa is going to end up falling into a pod like Nebby, Minny and Illinois.

Man, if this is true, then the Pac12 is dead and I can't see them recovering. They are geographically screwed.
that only leaves 8 teams. if we grab 4 then 4 teams are pretty much facing some very tough times. Feels like our big east option days.
I don't see how WSU, Oregon State survive. Cal and Stanford would have to land somewhere, but where? I can't imagine them joining the MWC.

If Cal and Stanford were available, the Big 12 would take them. A lot of people in California still

If they could get out of acc east they’d already be in sec.

Best Pac teams now (Oregon and Wash are gone) and/or wait for the acc thrift store sale when that conf gets destroyed in coming years.

The end of this thing is not a power league where Clemson, UNC and fsu are outside and vandy is in.
Or revenue is no longer distributed evenly.

We all knew this was coming at some point and we’ve set ourselves up to be the 3rd best conference. That’s all we could’ve asked for honestly. As long as the conference has a seat at the table when it comes to the CFP, we’re all good.
Being the 3rd best conference, even if there are only 4 P5 conferences isn't the end of the world as long as the BIG12's net TV contract stays around 60-70% of Big10/SEC.

After all Iowa's AD budget is about $50M more than ISU and we won CyHawk.

Oregon and Washington have to decide tonight. I actually think the LA Times report is wrong.

Saw a report that Pac 12 schools have until midnight to not pay a exit fee.

What’s so confusing is why only UCLA/USC now? Why not take your schools in one surprise move? It’s bizarre

If that’s the case that Oregon and Washington get invited tonight, Pac is all but dead and the rest will be looking for a new home. You can pretty much guarantee Arizona, ASU, Colorado, and Utah are headed to the Big 12. All the Pac teams leaving will vote to dissolve the conference to avoid exit Fees and GOR. Wild.

Sucks for the PAC, but it feels good to finally be on offense now after being the whipping post for the better part of 15 years.

For all the bad commissioners the Big 12 has had there's not one that's even in Larry Scott's league...

Bowlsby got crucified for losing OU and UT but I have yet to see one plausible suggestion for what he might have done to keep them. It's the same situation Kliavkoff is in now: no amount of executive creativity is going to fundamentally change the situation that some of your brands are worth much more than others, and other leagues can give them what you can't.

Usc isn't playing in the cold...Texas never did, why would they
If they are going to the BIG, they will be playing in the cold. And for the money, they will probably like it.

Scratching and clawing the whole way. Feel sorry for them, I do.

B1G takes the cream of Pac12.
Remaining Pac12 absorbed by Big12.
2024
SEC and B1G take cream of ACC, split by northern academics to B1G and southern FB schools to SEC.
Remaining ACC goes to Big12.
All 3 leagues have abt 24 teams.
2026
B1G and SEC spin off the top 30ish "brands" to a SuperLeague and the left behinds join up with the Big12 to become the "B" league of college football.

My grandpa used to walk up hill to school both ways, in the cold and snow, with no shoes and no coat, and only had a lard sandwich for dinner......AND HE LIKED IT!!! :jimlad:

The pac 12 trying to go it on its own with its own network though seemed to be a huge failure. That didn't help its brands.

Big 10 has the edge in Basketball. But Kentucky's brand is by far the best. SEC is also rising at the top
