I think you meant the other one...

As for me. I want AJ to do whatever's best for him to get to the NBA whether it's Iowa State, Duke or wherever.

I'm excited as an Iowa State fan that it (cautiously) looks good right now. He's a piece that makes the Top 4 possible and an upper half finish likely in my mind. Just need it to be November....

Nope, I meant you. You've seemed pretty plugged in on this one so wanted to get your take.

AJ Green isn't coming.

It's UNI or the Pros. Made his decision over the weekend.

Gotcha.

The only info I have on the change is that a few of the teams he worked out for wanted to see him against more consistent competition, going from seeing 12-15 good opponents to 22-25 is a big deal in their eyes.

He was able to separate what his heart wanted to do from the best business decision. That takes a ton of maturity and I'm glad for his future that he was able to do that. Now I have no idea if there is a final decision at this point but I think we all realize that the Big 12 is way ahead of the ACC. I can't imagine there's a two way deal on the table from anybody either.

That's a starting 5 who can go .500 in league play. If the team can shoot the ball from deep, when the defensive intensity we had last season. We can challenge for a spot in Des Moines come March 2023.
I'd bet my life savings Kalscheur does not come off the bench

You're probably right. I just hate watching him air-ball and brick 3's all day long. I hope he shoots under 100 3's this season and leave the shooting to AJ, Jaz, Grill, and the other guards.

We need everyone to shoot to be successful on offense. For all the air balls the one make out of 8 or 9 or 10 or whatever his % is is what sticks with defenders and opposing coaches. There’s a lot of psychology in basketball. It’s the same thing with the TH “he’s not a good shooter” hand wringing around here; are you going to just let him shoot open 3’s because he’s not an amazing % shooter and let him build confidence that extends to the rest of his game? This is the reason why D1 coaches make millions and we just talk about it on the internet (some even pay for that privelege).
