Here's a retro Hornacek pic. Clockwise from bottom left: Me, Barry (RIP), Horny and my friend Dan. Cameo by Dad's '77 Pinto. Jeff signed the pic for me at his HOF induction. View attachment 98668
And then Dan was in 16 Candles the next year.

Who knew that the star of that picture was going to be the Pinto. Did the Pinto come with the exploding gas tank or was that ordered?

No exploder. It was even rear ended once! Literally died for good as my dad pulled into dealership to trade it in. Think they gave him fifty bucks for it.

That would have been a bargain at twice the price.

Whats the story behind this? Why were they at your house?
My dad was on the board of the Linn County Cyclone Club, which I think is now called Cedar Valley. They used to have a spring breakfast banquet. I think it was Rod Wilson, Cedar Rapids native who worked in fundraising at ISU, who arranged for Barry & Jeff to appear at the banquet. He brought them over after class on a Friday night and they spent the night at our house and then Dad and I drove them back to Ames after the banquet. Kept in touch with both for several years but haven't talked to Jeff since HOF ceremony.
