Same size as Holmes and somewhat simular numbers. Not a bad guy to look at if we have a connection and Holmes doesnt come

Why are we even screwing around with the portal at this point. Just make every player in the country a free agent after every season...
Based on the number if guys that have been in the portal spring 2021 & spring 2022, seems like players see that is the case

Way up there
These poor mid majors...they are done. It'll be interesting to see which ones can stick around in the game. I'm sure Gonzaga will be fine but it's hard to see a school ever making a jump like they have again. If you don't have history, fan support or a known brand, it's going to be tough to just start all over.

On the other hand, look at Jackson State in football - hire a big name celeb as coach and then use that bring in $$$ and the players will follow. Memphis is a good basketball example.

In some regards, it's easier to make that leap. All you need is enough money.

Jackson State's ceiling is a SWAC title and the Celebration Bowl. I'm not sure the ROI is even close to worth it and the novelty of playing for Prime is going to wear off when those kids start seeing their peers playing for Bama and Georgia in the Playoff.

Yep. Only thing they could really hope for there is a invite from a bigger conference, which I don't even know if they would ask for that given the SWAC is one of the few conferences who has had nobody leave it since 2010.

Even if they were to get that invite I'm not sure where they'd go? Like the C-USA? That's not really a can't miss opportunity

CUSA is non-starter because none of their other sports would stand a chance to even be close to competitive. There was some chatter around the OVC and ASun for a while but even those leagues didn't want all their other sports.

Deion took that job so that he could get Florida State the next time it opens.

OK people of a certain age. Remember when Pinky Tuscadero almost died when she car was hit with the Malachi Crunch at the demolition derby? When she finally came to in the hospital, Fonzie asked her to marry him but she said no so that she could go on tour with the Pinkettes.

What a terrific plotline. Death, love, the pursuit of fame, and a demolition derby
Do you just jump the shark?

Okay, how does a coach manage this: my understanding is that June 13 is the last day for early entries into the draft to withdraw and return to college. I get that they probably meet or workout w/NBA personnel during May etc. to get feedback. But many of the top transfers are available to be recruited now. So how does a coach decide whether to 'wait' on a draft guy knowing they have a good shot w/them if they don't stay in the draft, versus taking a sure thing and not allowing another good transfer to get away? Is there something I'm not thinking of here?
