Tyrese Hunter Entering the Transfer Portal - NIL Speculation

Which begs the question, should ISU be looking for a replacement for Nike? They basically see ISU as a bottom rung of their schools that they outfit. And I also believe it has been shared here on CF that ISU doesn't see a whole lot of money from Nike in the first place, so they sure as hell have NEVER been steering any athlete to go to school in Ames.

Shouldn't ISU leadership talk/look at other companies that could possibly help out out more? (Under Armour for instance?)
I have wondered that as well. New Balance has BC and the list of schools for adidas is Louisville Kansas and NC State among others with the best being KU.

Under Armor has Maryland, TTU and Wisconsin.

I wonder what other brands would pay in term of licensing compared to Nike

If any of you are book lovers or marketing geeks, the book SHOE DOG by Phil Knight is a fantastic read. Absolutely incredible story of how Nike started.

Why go anywhere. Why not put together a team of design, fashion, etc. students and create ISU's own shoe & sport apparel line. Maybe call it CYike.

Give it 20 years and ISU will be its own sugar daddy like Phil Knight.
Don’t underestimate Kum & Go’s place in the shoe market! Maybe that’s the direction to go with all of our basketball players wearing the Ampersand 1’s and doing commercials for them.

I read “Code Black”. I had a few issues with some aspects of the book and how things were framed. There is also “Sole Influence” as well.

I thought the part about Zion was interesting. Thinking that he went to Duke and it wasn’t because he loved Duke. You don’t turn down Adidas money for the name on the jersey

But in the mean time lets bring back British Knights!

Puma is getting into NBA sponsors, wonder if they'd want into college sports.

Off topic, but remember when Kum and Go came out with the their own beer? My dog wouldn’t even drink it.

I'll tell you that UNI looked a switching to UA for everything but MBB before the 2019-20 season and UA gave them a bunch of football cleats for spring practice that year and they couldn't get through practice without several blowing out during each practice. They boxed them all up and shipped them back after a week and re-upped with Nike immediately.

Yeah, at some point having the best shoes and equipment matters.

Will be really bad if he picks Kansas or Texas. On the other hand, it would be nice to beat him a couple times next season.
It's going to be Kansas. It's been Kansas or UNC since this all started.

Realistically, he likely has known where he's headed before he even submitted to the portal. This is all just being drug out for plausible deniability against tampering.
