AJ Green Leaves the Portal - Staying in Draft

Green:

Now do IZB's numbers against the MVC...

Apples and oranges. IZB has elite athleticism that Green does not come close to (based on my watching the 5 minutes of highlights video on him).

I get everyone is excited, but I don't see how he is much more of a piece than Grill.

If that elsewhere is here I'm afraid he will remain a late-shot-clock kind of guy.

Brockington, and to a lesser extent Hunter, found themselves in some not-so-ideal late clock situations last year.
Iowa State plays a lower possession game so even if he's that guy there won't be the volume that he had in Cedar Falls.

The way people tell on themselves sometimes as far as "I don't know anything about basketball" is wild.

In its purest form, the open letter is a manifesto.
I once had an employee that everyone could see was a little bit off, a little bit tinfoil hat, a little bit Unibomber. I once got a typewritten, single spaced four page manifesto on onion skin from him. I was watching my rearview mirror a lot on my evening drives home for the next couple of weeks after that.

Not necessarily - completely different team with (hopefully) more offensive pieces to find better shot and driving to the basket opportunities.

He'd be one the higher rated recruits to ever play in the program.

They couldn’t be further from one another as far as similar players go. AJ Green is a bucket getter who can create his own shot in a multitude of ways. He also is a solid ball handler with a high basketball IQ. He was asked to do literally everything at UNI.

I love Caleb but he’s a 3 and D guy who’s above average at both. Love his energy and effort and he does indeed help us. But the comparison between the two players is a bad one.

I bet if someone went back and charted it Gabe had the most late shot clock situations. It seemed like someone was always passing him the ball with 5 or less on the shot clock because they didn't want to take the shot themselves.

Two time Player of the Year in a Top 10 league and just shy of 1800 points in 3 years. I must have missed Grill being Player of the Year in the Mountain West.

AJ is the second or third best player in the portal.
