Tyrese Hunter Entering the Transfer Portal - NIL Speculation

On the bright side, Hunter is a guard, and there are a lot more guards out there than athletic posts. Sure whomever TJ can pick up will not be as good, but there are just a lot more 6-6' 5" guards out there than 6' 9" forwards that can score and rebound. Hopefully TJ is like Campbell and has plans b-f already figured out.

If he truly hasn't been on campus since the S16 like some have posted, compliance, TJ, etc have been working on a plan for a while.

I thought so. I don't think fans were allowed for atleast the first half of the year. I saw some noncon games that looked like zero fans.

They had no restrictions the first month but were shutdown for most of Dec, when they came back in January, they had limited attendance. They were getting about 9k a night before restrictions.

Lipsey’s opportunity just got a whole lot bigger and I hope he’s motivated by it and embraces it. I like Tamin. He’s very physical, has a similar body as Hunter. Maybe a little taller but not as explosive a leaper. He’s a solid ball handler and an exceptional passer. Now young man get 500-1000 shots up a day for the next 6 months and we’ll see you in November.

Kind of like getting dumped. You learn from it and move on and typically find someone better suited for you. And you may say the right things about hoping they are happy to. All's well that ends well, right?

But at the end of the day you wind up hoping they get married to a pot-bellied balding guy with a lower management job and a gambling problem.

Do you know me? LOL

I’ve heard that he still hasn’t recovered fully and might need another surgery to clean things up in his knee. Hopefully he is ready by November.

Well...
I suppose since things like facilities and fan support are now taking a back seat... maybe our donation/season ticket money should go towards buying players instead?

Now that I've had a day to process this I think moving forward I'll jsut treat it like he helped us go on a Sweet 16 run, then left early for the NBA.

The difference being I'll never cheer for him or follow his career like I did for Monte and those guys. If his team happens to be in Des Moines next year fro the tourney I'll be probably be booing him loudly.

I guess the thing that gets me is was our staff and AD naive about this? They had to have known in today's climate that there were going to be competitive threats and now they are reactive instead of preventive. What is going on with NIL is big as sh#t, shouldn't have needed a freaking wake up call.

Hey MecklenDork..

(Hunter) A mediocre player nobody has ever heard of? Apparently Jon Rothstein, someone who is 10,000x more knowledgeable than you--begs to differ..

Quit while you're behind. You're a naive fking hillbilly

Sorry, but hes right. Jon Rothstein gets paid to know players. You think some average fan down in North Carolina cares about some freshman from the middle of nowhere who shot 26% from three?

Put yourself in their shoes, they are used to winning national championships and getting 5 star players, why should they care about a guy like Hunter who isn't as talented as their other guards?
