Okay maybe that was the wrong phrase. Should have gone with “stop sucking all the oxygen” maybe?

That's certainly a better way of putting it. The Masters is setup for past winners to show up and play whenever they want. It's unique. He's going to keep showing up here for decades.

I don't think "he's too popular" is a good reason for him to hang it up, especially not for the Masters. People play the Masters until they're dead and maybe even a year or two longer.

Seve would still be playing if he hadn't died. It still feels like he's playing considering how much he's brought up every year.

Sweet, so the rest of the field will be ignored by the media until Sunday (or Saturday if Tiger misses the cut)
Yeah this is part that annoys me. It's not that I dislike Tiger per se it's just the overblown media coverage (not really his fault) and also the many golf "fans" that all they know or care about is Tiger and then act like they are some die-hard of the sport.

IMO you can't call yourself a golf fan unless you're living and dying over whether Adam Schenk makes the cut on a given week.

For the people ******** about Tiger yet again, what is he supposed to do? He wants to keep playing, which is his choice and right. It isn’t his fault that the media loves him. Jack had more majors than him, but Tiger would’ve wiped the floor with anyone during his heyday, and I don’t think there is anyway to make me think otherwise. He not only won majors but won some ridiculous percentage of each start he made for a decade plus.

If you don’t want to watch the hoopla then watch the other streams and be done with it. He is the reason why golf is as popular as it is. The media aren’t going to just not talk about him.

So watching the par 3 contest and they just sat down with Jack Nicholas and of course the conversation evolved into his grandson's hole in one a few years ago.

For thos not watching, Apparently the attention GT received from that shot made him realize golf isn't what he wanted to do. So he skipped college and moved to Nashville to attempt a music career. Here is GT's song that Jack mentioned in his interview.

I don't know which is harder. To make it as a professional athlete or a musician.

Word is Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Kevin Na, and DeChambum are going to the Saudi tour.

Can Phil Phlop be far behind?

Interesting. Poulter and Westwood's best days are in the rear view mirror, but Na is a good get and Dechambeau is huge. All four have personality. Will be interesting to see if the PGA sticks to their word about lifetime bans if this flops in a year or two.
