Wild Bill - MIA???

I was at the game last night and I can assure you all that Wild Bill was there at the game and was alive and well. He wasn't as vocal but he did get wound up a few times. I only sat about 1 section over and just a few rows up from him so I'm POSITIVE it was him.

How about the mods here do some work and rid this thread of any false rumors or hearsay that has nothing to back it up? They do the same in other threads and I think Wild Bill deserves better than some of the garbage people are posting in this thread.

It seems to me that the false rumor has been thoroughly debunked here thanks to various reputable posters. If we were to remove the rumor in this case, it may look as if there is something to hide. Many times it's better to let people call BS on someone than to take action, and I think this is one of those cases.

There's a chance that this was an honest mistake, but there's also a chance that someone is trying to stir up trouble. Rest assured that we are on top of this and won't let it continue if that's the case.

Good point, friend. Should I edit it to say "Bull Poopy"?

I sit by him as well - he was indeed there last night.

I appreciate all the feeback to my original (and might I add first post to Cyclone Fanatic) question.

ok now - on to OK State! See ya Saturday!:notworthy:

I know Wild Bill personally, and he did have to miss a game or two recently. I don't recall exactly what the conflict was though. But I know he gave his tickets to some mutual friends, and they dressed up accordingly.

I know he's missed games in the past for family and/or church obligations. He may be one insane fan (in a good way) but he also has his priorities straight.

I actually met him around 15 years ago before I even cared about ISU WBB. He was a genuinely nice and helpful guy, and a few years later when I started going to games I realized that I actually knew who that crazy guy at the games was.

Here's to 25 more years of him wearing that gold suit and encouraging the team / yelling at officials. :)

He actually works at Grandon Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Ames. They have been busy lately and Bill has had to work.

BJ Shaven said during the Vandy game Bill died new years eve. There was a 30ish looking guy dressed up like Bill with the yellow corduroy jacket and red visor the camera showed a couple times. I assume it was in tribute to Bill. BJ aslo said BF had a special moment with the players in the locker room befor the game.

OK after seeing the last few posts maybe I assumed that young guy was a memorial to Bill. BJ did say somebody named Bill died new years eve and that BF told the team about it.
