Really liked the first episode of Moon Knight. It feels like WandaVision where I’m completely caught off guard, which I love

I think people will warm up to it. Still kinda confused how this fits into the lore of the MCU but I really liked how this is starting out. Maybe we’ll see why this fit better as a mini-series but I’m actually a little disappointed that Moon Knight’s origin story isn’t being given the full theatrical release treatment.

I have a feeling I will either be watching Moon Knight on my own or I 'll have to wait until the season is complete and binge with the family.

If any of the other Marvel series taught me anything, it's that my wife and daughter don't get very excited to watch Marvel when it's a weekly event. I'm cautiously optimistic about it, though.

I'll be 100% honest with you, I think all of these Disney+ shows work better as a binge. I didn't watch Hawkeye until this week and I watched all of Boba Fett I think 2 weeks ago. I did kind of follow the discourse about them online and there were a lot of people kind of disappointed in them watching them week by week.

I think I'd say these shows are a lot of fun, but they don't hold up to scrutiny very well. Watching one a week leads people to overanalyze and overthink them. Just watch them and don't take them seriously and you'll have an awesome time.

Not done with Moon Knight yet but I'm really liking it so far. Oscar with the London accent is quite the choice as well.

So is moon knight going to be a kid friendly show? We’ve watched all of the other movies and tv series with the kids to date and this one (and morbius) have us questioning whether or not we’ll watch that with them. Also, we have not watched any of the series that we’re on Netflix that moved over to Disney plus with the kids (except agents of shield) to date as those looked a little too mature for them.

I've only made it halfway through Episode 1 of Moon Knight and surprisingly, I'd say it is mostly kid-friendly so far. However, based on what I've heard about the maturity of the series, you might want to check back after a few more episodes to give it the final thumbs up or not. As for the Marvel Netflix stuff you referred to, yes, Agents of Shield is mostly kid friendly. As for all the other mature content, I'd personally continue to stay away with young kids. For being mature-rated, there is very little by way of nudity (not sure there is any, maybe a butt or two at most) and profanity (I'd almost argue the profanity still stays PG-13), but still very high on sexuality and definitely violence. If they really lean hard into anything, it is the violence of an "R" type rating.

As for Morbius, I've obviously not seen it, but it does say something that the movie got the higher 14 and up rating in the UK, which not many PG-13 comic book movies get. I believe The Batman got the same rating in the UK. I've also heard it leans into the horror elements some.

All of that said, Thor chops Thanos' head off at the start of Endgame and my middle kid was pretty terrified of that.

I got so used to netflix's method that I hated the week by week thing at first too. However, Wanda Vision changed my mind on it. My brother comes over every week to watch with me and that one in particular was fun to guess what's happening. It keeps my always wanting new MCU/Star Wars content satisfied all month, rather than binging it and being in a show hole.

I do agree you can over analyze. Certainly some fan theories on wanda vision would have been better than what happened, but its part of the fun. Current speculation for Moon Knight:
Was that Dr. Doom's Castle in Latveria?

I would say through episode 1 I could see how it would be a little too adult for a kid. Maybe a little scary. So far not as graphic as the Netflix shows but less kid friendly than the rest of the Disney+ ones. Might want to see how the rest of the season goes.

Personally really enjoyed the first episode and looking forward to the next one. I'm not super familiar with Moon Knight so I think that makes it easy for me to enjoy and be intrigued about what's going on.

Violence like that type of stuff doesn't bother my young kids surprisingly as much as any type of intent towards horror. The perfect example is Shazam. For how kid-friendly 90% of that movie is, 10% of it leans pretty hard into some pretty scary moments. That board room scene in particular is the main one that stands out. It's not shocking to know Sanberg, the director of that movie, is a pretty notorious horror director as well, so he intentionally leaned into those aspects, and it worked with scary my kids pretty good.

I'm in the process of re-watching all the MCU and nearly done. Of the Disney+ series, I've only yet to reach Hawkeye for a re-watch. Its worth noting that WandaVision only got better with a re-watch, and it was by far my favorite series after the first time. Loki also improved some, while What if...? stayed about the same, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier got significantly worse. FATWS's story and editing flaws made the show look like a complete conjobbled mess with second viewing, and I was only so-so on it the first time. I'm afraid Hawkeye's flaws are only going to make it look worse as well, but we'll see.

I mean this seriously I thoroughly enjoyed Hawkeye. It's light and kind of silly and that was a great binge.

Finally got Ep 1 of Moon Knight watched. More please!

I'm not saying it's flawless by any means, but this is probably the first of the Disney+ Marvel shows that I had basic zero quibbles with after the first episode. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with not being a show of one of their pre-existing characters so I'm able to go into it with zero expectations outside of what I know of Moon Knight from the comics.

It’s really too bad about FATWS. The real life timing couldn’t have been worse, and they forced it (in my opinion). I thought it was complete garbage right away. In hindsight, delaying would have been a prudent move. As it is, it’s just **** on a log.

LOL I came here wondering the same thing. My 7 year old straight up told me it was too scary for him and I was hoping to find out otherwise. If I don't have him on my side, how the hell else am I gonna be able to take control of the TV for an hour to watch it!!

I think what makes it worse is that it could have really tied in the "old" mcu to the "new" mcu (or the direction they are taking it) if that makes sense. It could have been the crown jewel of these new mini-series but it is really just a turd in a bowl of milk.
